Life is Good!

According to Caleb's beach hat, Life is Good. I think once you
see the following pictures, you will agree that Life is Good for
Caleb these days in Florida!

In his trunks, cover up, and beach hat...all sun screened
up and ready to hit the pool.

Checking out his surroundings
This was Caleb's first time in the pool. Because the water
was pretty cold I wasn't sure if he'd like it. It took him a
while, but he ended up having a great time. We may have
a little Michael Phelps (minus the recent indiscretion) on
our hands!

Beach Boy

After Caleb's THREE hour afternoon nap, (apparently traveling
really wears him out!) we decided to walk down to the beach.
Since this was Caleb's first sand and ocean experience, I
wasn't sure how he would react. See for yourself...

Grabbing a handful of sand

After he realized his feet were in the sand, he began
to move them around, trying to figure it all out. It was
really cute.

The following pictures are of Caleb's first time in the
ocean. He was very intrigued! He didn't smile or laugh,
but he didn't cry either. In fact, he kept pulling us further
out into the water.

What a GREAT afternoon...

We Made It!

Caleb and I are in Florida! Luckily, it was a VERY uneventful
trip. We got to the airport a little after 6 this morning, and by the
time I checked the luggage, went through security, and got the
stroller tagged, it was time to board. There was no down time,
which was key I think.
Since I was a nervous wreck flying alone with Caleb, I sat in the
back of the plane and prayed that a nice person would share
our row of seats. (The plane wasn't full, so Caleb got his own
seat!!!) My prayer was answered...the nicest man sat by us. He
played with Caleb, held drinks, picked up Puffs that fell, and
even packed my backpack when we landed as Caleb slept on
my shoulder.
Then, we were greeted with a very happy set of great grand-
parents in Tampa.

You can only imagine how much Caleb loves Florida with
all of the ceiling fans! (Check out his beach chair...isn't it
cute?!!)

Perfect Timing

While Caleb was napping this morning, I decided to pick up
our game/play/computer room. Somehow Caleb's toys have
taken over another room in our home. As I was finishing up
I heard Caleb playing in his bed, so I went to get him, camera
in hand. (I left the camera by the computer last night from
when I uploaded Easter pictures so I had it with me to take
down stairs.) Anyways, it was perfect timing to have the
camera. As I opened his door, this is what I found...

a standing baby!

While I congratulated him on his accomplishment, I realized
what this means...

(1) The monitor and sound machine will need to be moved
off the headboard of his bed.
(2) The adorable sailboat mobile will need to be retired- it is
easily pulled over.
(3) We'll need to drop his bed to the lowest setting, which
means it will hurt my back even more when I lay him down.
(4) Passies will get thrown over the side = crying Caleb.
(5) Less sleep...Caleb usually wakes up an hour or so into
his nap, but falls back asleep for another hour. I'm thinking
that if he wakes up and then stands, there will be no more
falling back asleep.

And I was excited because?!!!!

Happy Easter!

Caleb enjoyed his first Easter today. He got his Easter basket,
spent time with his friends in the church nursery, went on his
first Easter egg hunt, and played with his many cousins.

First Easter Egg Hunt

Caleb loved having his Grandmom help him find
eggs.

"I see one!!!"

Getting help from cousins Kyle and Coleton.

Showing off his egg to cousin Baylee (5 months)

While it's easy to get caught up in the pretty clothes, baskets,
and bunnies, it important to keep focus on why we celebrate
Easter. We sang this song at church this morning and Creed
and I have had it stuck in our heads all day- that's a good
thing! I think you'll like it. "Revelation Song"

Breakfast of Champions

After a 5 ounce bottle, a bowl of oatmeal mixed with fruit,
1/3 of a banana, and 3/4 of a whole wheat waffle, Caleb
wanted to show off his muscles...

His Way

Caleb likes to do things his way. Case in point...he has
turned his musical table into a push toy. His new favorite
thing is to push it throughout the house, although I try to
keep him on the carpet in case he falls. Before you ask,
yes, he has a real push toy, he just chooses not to push
it.

Not What I Expected...

I'm not a huge Oprah fan, but when the topic interests me,
I'll watch. Today the topic was Motherhood, so I decided to
see what Oprah had to say. I only watched the first half, but
mainly it was about how hard it is to be a mother. There
were women talking about how being a mother is much
harder than they expected, and how it isn't something that
we really talk about.

Motherhood isn't want I expected either, but for totally
different reasons as those discussed on Oprah. Being a
mother is much better than I could have ever imagined!
Sure there are some days that are better than others, but
what I can say, especially when this is what I find when I go
into Caleb's room after his nap...

Does it get any better than that?!! My precious child, who
refuses to pull up, will do whatever it takes to see out of his
bed. Love ya, Caleb!

Stuck

Not sure what to do now...

Picnic in the Park

On Thursday we decided to have a picnic in the park. The
weather was beautiful and Caleb loved being outside. We
enjoyed lunch, and as luck would have it, the ice cream
truck made a stop in the park. So, Caleb got to enjoy his
first snow cone! It was the perfect afternoon!

Don't you just love Caleb's Guy Harvey shirt?! He looks
like such a big boy. Thanks Marshma!

Mmmm...this is great!

Weeeeeee!

What a goofy grin! Caleb actually has 4 teeth now,
although you would never know it from this picture.
