Grand Opening

Over the past few months Caleb has watched as they built a
Chick-fil-A less than a mile from our home. We've counted
down the days until the grand opening, and Thursday Caleb
and Creed went opening day for lunch. While he wasn't one
of the first 100 people in the door that day (They had been
camping out for over 48 hours in the parking lot!!) he still had
a yummy lunch and had fun playing on the new (and clean!)
playground. Hopefully it won't be too dangerous living so close
to such a yummy fast food place!

Church "Festabul"

Wednesday night we went to the fall festival at our church. Caleb
was so excited all day and kept talking about the "festabul." Like
at the zoo, Mickey Mouse was a big hit, and Mickey even ran into
Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto. (That was probably the high point of his
night!) He got to play games, go down a bouncy slide with Uncle
Luke, and of course, get candy! (Unfortunately, because it got so
dark, we didn't get many good pictures.)

Caleb's neighborhood friend, Barrett, met us up there too!

Barrett refused to wear his UK helmet and decided to be

a UK football player/Cubs baseball player.

Caleb had Grandmom, Grandpa, and Uncle Luke there to

chase him around (and meet his every need!) which was a

nice break for Mommy and Daddy!

Jack-O-Lantern

Sunday afternoon PeePaw and Caleb carved Caleb's first
Jack-O-Lantern. Actually, PeePaw did all the work, and we
think it turned out great!

Caleb was TOTALLY and COMPLETELY grossed out! I

wish that I had his reaction on video...He gave the

funniest, grossed out face and started flapping his arms!

After that, PeePaw was on his own!

Veteran's Park

Saturday morning we took advantage of the beautiful weather and
spent close to two hours playing at the park! Veteran's Park in
J-Town is great because there are two playgrounds, one of which
is more of a toddler playground, and it's always very low key. Caleb
also likes to look at the helicopter and tank.


I think PeePaw pushed him on the swing for 30 minutes. This
kid is a swinging fool!





Well trained...I told him that I wanted to take his picture
by the tank so he sat down and posed! That's my boy!



Aunt Dana also met us there and Caleb could not have been
more excited. It was the perfect morning!

Guess Who Is In Town?!!

Just call me Max!

Two weeks ago Caleb informed his Grandmom that his name is
Max, and he has gone with that ever since. At the bank when the
teller asked him his name, he replied, "Max." At my school's fall
festival he told all the teachers his name was Max. He even has
Mrs. Harper now calling him Max!

We have absolutely no idea where the name Max has come from.
He hasn't read any stories with that name, and there are not any
kiddos with the name Max in his room. I've even asked Mrs. Harper
if she might know where it came from and she is just as clueless
as we are!

So, if you run into Caleb, I mean Max, anytime soon, make sure
you call him Max. But just in case you forget, he'll remind you. Trust
me!

Annual Huber's Trip

On Sunday we headed to Huber's for our 3rd annual trip. Again,

it was unseasonably warm and ridiculously dusty, but we all had

a great afternoon. (Actually, that's a total lie...Matt and Creed

complained the whole time!)

On the wagon ride! We actually ran into Erika & Ava so they

headed out to the pumpkin patch with us.

The search for the perfect pumpkin begins!

The search for the perfect pumpkin quickly ends as the stalks

(Is that what they are??) got Caleb's attention.

Luckily Daddy swooped in and they were off on a mission!

This year's perfect pumpkin!

After all the pumpkin pickin' Caleb found a bouncy slide

to keep him entertained.

FYI...We will not be starting a family tradition where we go up

to Kroger and pick out a pumpkin no matter what Creed says!

Costume Birthday Party

Saturday afternoon we went to Anne Marie's first birthday party.
I work with Anne Marie's mom, Leah, at school, and this was the
first time that we have gotten all the kiddos together. It was a
costume party, and to keep Caleb content, we decided to skip
the large Mickey Mouse costume and go with a more comfortable
option...pjs! At least they looked like a costume!

Trick or Treat

Caleb quickly learned the phrase "trick or treat" last Sunday as we
went to the zoo's annual Halloween party. We met the Durst and
Whitworth families, and all the little kiddos had a blast!


I might have flat out lied to Caleb and told him that they would
only give him candy if he wore his Mickey costume. But I'm not
admitting to anything!

The cutest grey/gray (depending on if you prefer the American

or British version- that's for you, Nikki!) kitty cat and puppy that

I've ever seen! I've got my eye on that puppy costume since we

will have a baby boy to dress next Halloween!

Yes, Caleb brought his Pez dispenser from home. Pez is

by far his favorite thing right now and he doesn't leave home

without it!

Meeting Alice! (Notice the Pez?!) Caleb LOVES Alice ever

since Aunt Paige introduced him to Alice in Wonderland.

This week he saw "Mickey in Wonderland" and that is basically

the only thing you'll see on our TV these days!

The sugar high is beginning (Pez still in hand!)

While he won't watch Toy Story the movie, he has a collection

of their books and loves to read them. He was so excited to

meet Buzz and Woody!

Picnic Lunch & Playground

We have been enjoying our mid-October, 90 degree days, trying
to get in as much outdoor fun as possible. On Saturday Caleb and
I went to the park to enjoy the weather. Caleb loved playing on the
playground, walking on the trails, rolling acorns down the slides,
and eating a picnic lunch. I loved watching him!

Pie

Somehow I got talked into doing the pie eating contest at my school's
fall festival. I think it went something like this..."Oh, you're pregnant, so
I'm sure you wouldn't mind to do the pie eating contest, right?!" Since
Caleb was there with me he got to join in on all the fun!

a little early! :)


He had a fork, but when he saw how we were eating it, he
decided to dive right in as well!

We were doing well until all the craziness began. Then we

just sat back and watched it all. And sadly, we came in last

place. (Or maybe that's a good thing?!)

JRE's Fall Festival

Friday evening I took Caleb to the fall festival at my school. He
had an absolute blast and loved all of the fun activities!

I was thrilled to see that we were using stickers to decorate our

pumpkin and not paint. Whew!

It took me a while to convince the teachers in charge of the slide

that he could go down alone. ;)

Does popcorn count as a vegetable? If so, he had a very

nutritious dinner!
