Lake Cumberland

We had an awesome weekend at the lake with Grandmom,
Grandpa, Aunt Paige, Uncle Luke, and DJ, Paige's boyfriend.
The weather was absolutely perfect- the best Memorial Day
Weekend weather that I can ever remember. Caleb did
perfect! He loved being on the boat (the life jacket wasn't an
issue) and slept great. While he took (short!) naps on the boat
each afternoon, he was so worn out that he slept great at night.

Sprinkler

Last night after dinner we got together with Caleb's neighborhood pal
Barrett for some sprinkler fun. Caleb loved running in the water...it's
going to be a great summer!

Zoo Trip

On Monday Caleb and I met two friends from high school, Amanda
and Nikki at the zoo, as well as Nikki's two adorable kids, George
and Salma. While it was really hot (90 degrees!) we still managed
to have a great time!

One of Caleb's new favorite people- Amanda! Or as

Caleb called her, "DaDa." He was smitten, insisting that

she follow him around the playground and walk near his

stroller! He even made me walk away while they were

playing! Ha!

Test Run

With two extended lake trips in the near future, we thought it would
be a good idea to take Caleb to the lake for a test run. While he
loved being on the boat last year, we wanted to see how he would
do now that he is "at that age..."

Hate is the perfect word to describe how he feels about his life

jacket. He kept saying, "Off! Off!"

He did forget about the jacket while he enjoyed a sucker....

while he swam with his Daddy....

and while he played with a squirt bottle. But, whenever he remembered

that he was wearing the jacket, he turned into a not so happy camper!

While taking a boat ride he dozed off and took his afternoon nap.

Hopefully he will get used to wearing that jacket! Otherwise it may

be a long summer!

Sake Blue

To celebrate Paige finishing her first year of college, Grandma
& Grandaddy took the whole family out to Sake Blue, a Japanese
grill, for dinner. While we get carry out from there all the time, and
Creed and I frequently have date night there, we haven't taken
Caleb there since he was a baby. He and Caroline both took it
all in. He was mesmerized by the chef chopping all the vegetables
and kept pointing saying, "Rice! Rice!" He also loved the fire!

Dinner & Ducks

A few weeks ago we met Marshma and Papa for dinner at
Cunningham's on the river. Caleb loves eating outside, and we
all enjoyed a great evening together! We are SO glad that the
snow birds (Marshma & Papa!) are back for the summer!

We took some crackers and bread from dinner down to feed

the ducks. Feeding ducks happens to be one of Caleb's very

favorite activities!

Two reasons why Caleb is so spoiled...

"Peesche"

Last Saturday Aunt Paige came over and played with Caleb while

I mulched and worked on the flower beds. I feel so blessed to have

such an amazing sister whom I trust completely with my baby boy.

And, Caleb sure loves his Aunt "Peesche." Afterwards we took

Paige out to lunch. Caleb actually ate more than I have seen him

eat in a long time. We finished our lunches and had to wait on him

while he finished his kids meal. It was a great Saturday! Thanks

again, Paige!

Here Comes the Sun!!

The sun was shining today- horray! It seems like forever since we have
had a hot, sunny, and rain free day, although it's been more like a week.
Well, I guess it has been a long time since it was hot! Anyways, we
were loving the summer weather so much today that we enjoyed some
sweet treats. Imagine that...Caleb enjoying sweet treats.

And ice cream after dinner is like icing on the cake...

After eating his own strawberry cone, Caleb moved on to Creed's

ice cream!

23 Months

Caleb at 23 Months...

**His vocabulary is increasing everyday. New words this week

include mess, grass, awful, easy, and moose. (Awful was in

regards to the smell of his diaper!)

**He is putting together 2 and 3 word sentences. Some of his

regulars include: "Momo's garage up," "Momo's garage down,"

"Nighty night Mama," "Move, please," and "Mama bird Nighty

night."

**He still calls Creed "Abba," but will refer to him as Daddy if

others do. And since Creed drinks orange juice, all orange juice

in Caleb's mind is called "Abba juice."

**While he is super sweet and 99% of the time a very good boy,

he is very hard headed and ornery. For example, he says "ahguh,"

for the word cookie. I'll say, "Caleb, say cook." He responds,

"cook." I say, "say e." He responds, "e." So I say, "say cookie."

He says with a giant grin on his face, "ahguh."

**Push toys are his favorite toys. His ball popper doubles as a
vacuum cleaner and his golf caddy is his lawn mower. Pretend
play already!
**He is not an eater. Every now and then he will surprise us and eat
a ton, but most of the time he only eats a few bites. His favorite
foods right now include hot dogs, Pop tarts, yogurt covered raisins,
and carrot sticks dipped in ranch. (And, of course cookies!)
**He catches a lot of beauty sleep these days. Since I made his
room totally dark with black garbage bags over his windows, he
sleeps from around 8:30 or 9 pm until 8:30 or 9 am. Nap time is
usually from around 1:30 until 4. We are loving this change!
**He and Rhett fight all the time, and Rhett usually wins. He wants
to tease Rhett with one of Rhett's toys, but since Rhett is much
stronger, he always gets his toy back. Then Caleb comes crying to
me, and I have to say, "Who's toy is it?" Caleb responds, "Raa," and
I have to say, "Then he gets to play with it." You'd think he was
arguing with a sibling!
**Caleb loves his family so much. He asks daily if he can go to his
grandparent's houses, and squeals with excitement when he sees
them.

We love you, Caleb Creed Fowler. You are such a joy, and we love
every second with you!

King of the Castle

Like a Fish

Caleb loves the water, and after spring break, we decided that he
would benefit from swim lessons. And, let me just say that we made
the right decision! Almost everything we do is with a song, and he
loves it. He is like a little fish. See for yourself...


Grandmom and Aunt Paige came with us this week to watch. He
liked having an audience. (Usually he makes sure the life guard
is watching him before he jumps in!)


This is the face Caleb makes every single time he comes up
from being under water. Mouth Open. Tongue Out. Eyes on the
ceiling. (I figured that by looking up, he is getting the water out
of his eyes.)

Alligator, alligator on the wall. Alligator, alligator,

jump off that wall!

One on one time with Mr. Keith, the teacher. Caleb still isn't

a fan of floating on his back. We're working on that.

Fighting a Losing Battle

Trying to clean house with Caleb awake is like fighting a losing
battle. While Creed cleaned our upstairs bathroom and I picked
up the toy room, this is the damage Caleb inflicted on the living
room.


See that white, plastic square in the background? That's a card
holder for a memory game. A game that has like 50 small cards.
Everywhere. Luckily the lacing beads were put safely away in
the plastic bin that he was unable to open!



Yep, it's empty. I LOVE how he is still holding the bin containing
the lacing beads. It's like he wasn't ready to give up on his total
destruction!

Captain's Quarters

Last Thursday Creed had the great idea to do down to Captain's
Quarters for dinner. The weather was beautiful and Caleb loved
eating "side." It was also crazy to see all the flooding. Captain's
Quarters only had one deck open due to the rising water.
