Recently...

The month of May is always my busiest month at work with statewide testing and just finishing up the school year. I have been working a few extra days each week, and thankfully, Marshma & Papa have been able to pick the boys up from school on those days. 

Creed took Papa and Luke fishing one Thursday earlier this month. They went bluegill fishing, yet somehow Creed caught this:

That night, Luke was exhausted. I can't imagine being so tired that you sleep like this!

One day after school, Papa pulled Caleb's 3rd lose tooth out!

He was so excited. He finally got the toothless grin that he has been hoping for! (He also flat out asked if the tooth fairy was real, and not wanting to lie, we told him the truth. He found the big revelation to be hilarious!)

For the 2nd time this month, Caleb (the child that rarely gets sick!) came down with a fever. Thankfully I took him to the doctor pretty early on and we found out he had his first case of strep throat. He didn't have a lot of big symptoms (he still ate, slept, played, etc.) but he was really tired for a good three days. Bless his heart, he even had to miss field day at school! :(

Memorial Day Weekend

Our Memorial Day weekend started off with some cleaning. Caleb was my big helper and worked hard for his $1. (I love that his shorts are on backwards-ha!)

After nap, we went up to the pool since it was the opening day. The water was FREEZING...colder than I think it's ever been. Caleb was in and out in just a few seconds and Luke swam for a minute or two. Looking forward to warm, summer days ahead.

Sunday afternoon we headed out to the lake. It was the third Sunday in a row that we have changed to our swimsuits in the car, and we are loving it! Funny thing...I forgot to pack my flip flops that day. So I was the person wearing a swim suit cover up with gold wedge heels to the lake. I commented that I looked ridiculous and sweet Caleb said, "You don't look ridiculous. You just look ridiculous for the lake."

 Matt and Hayden met us out there for a few hours of fun. The boys swam, tubed, and were basically silly for hours. And, there were lots of sweet treats eaten!

After the Dursts left, we picked up a pizza from the marina and headed back out for dinner on the lake. We almost had the place to ourselves that evening- it was so great. Caleb commented that the pizza was "the best pizza ever" and Creed explained that eating on the boat makes everything taste better!

Creed and I sat back and listened to music while the boats played on our "floating living room," as we call it.

I am blessed beyond measure!

The Big Wedding Day

On May 9th, Uncle Luke and Aunt Briana tied the knot! They had an outdoor wedding at Big Springs County Club and the weather could not have been any better! Everything went down without a hitch and everyone looked great. We are so, so happy for the newlyweds!

We had to be there three hours before the ceremony for pictures. While we were doing groomsmen pictures, Luke sat on the curb, right in bird poop. While we were cleaning him off, Caleb leaned against a tree and got sap all over the back of his tuxedo coat. Yep. Fun times. :)

Caleb and Luke did great! Caleb was super serious, concentrating really hard and Luke walked with a little swagger in his step, even giving a thumbs up as he made it down the aisle.

We ate and danced and enjoyed the night until around 10, but had to call it a night and get the boys home. It was the perfect wedding, and we are so glad Briana has officially joined the family now!

My Wonderful Mother's Day

I had simply the best Mother's Day that I could imagine! First, I got to wake up to these two cuties...

Since we were out late the night before at the wedding, we decided to sleep in, skipping our Community Groups, and just attend worship. 

This also meant we had time for a few pictures!

After church and a quick stop at Subway, we headed straight for the lake, even changing into our suits in the car. Ha! It was a perfect, hot, summer-like day. :)

Caleb would ride the tube all day if we let him. He actually took a pretty big fall, basically flipping off the side, yet he came up with the biggest smile on his face. He is such a little lake rat!

Creed surprised me with a dozen beautiful roses and a cookie cake, which I quickly cut into, leaving the knife in the container. Because...every single time I passed it on the counter, I had to cut a piece. (Which is why it was all gone two days ago!)

Caleb surprised me with this sweet letter:

Dear Mom, I love you! Thank you for cooking good food for me. Thank you for letting me snuggle with you. You are a great mom. Love, Caleb

And, according to Luke, I am 10 years old and his favorite thing that I cook is macaroni and cheese. (Yet, he wouldn't eat macaroni and cheese if his life depended on it-ha! I think he misunderstood her and thought she meant my favorite food...)

Melt my heart...

My #1 also surprised me with another gift...I have already had a blast using my electric bug zapper tennis racket. It works wonderfully and is just as exciting as you could imagine. ;)
