Caleb & Ava

Tuesday morning I took Caleb and Ava to the pool so they could
burn off some energy. I loved watching them play and interact.
Caleb would jump and then Ava would jump. Ava would fall down
and then Caleb would fall down. Everything went this way. So,
when one decided to drive a car along the side of the pool, the
other decided to join in...

Too close!!! Look at that face! You see, Caleb also likes to drive

his cars up your legs, over your arms, across your tummy, etc. Ava

was NOT having that!

Fun

Cousin Ava came and stayed with us for a few days and we sure had
a blast. On Monday we played around the house all morning before
visiting Grandma & Grandaddy, and then Grandmom & Grandpa. Ava
and Caleb got along great playing with the different toys at the different
houses. Then we met Creed at Home Run Burger for dinner (kids eat
free night!!) and afterwards walked down to Chuck-E-Cheese for some
"fun," as Caleb kept repeating. Caleb rode every single ride they had
while Ava was more of a spectator. They did find this one simulator
that they both found very interesting. They did it over and over! It was
a fun (and exhausting!) day!

I walked in the living room and found them both reading in the

chair. So sweet.

Ok, this jet ski is crazy! I had to jump on and ride with him because

it was throwing him all over the place!

This is the simulator they loved. I think they flew on a spaceship,

rode this cart through a tunnel, and raced a car. The seat would

move and shake, which they thought was great.

Party!

Caleb had his party pants on this weekend as he celebrated Uncle
Luke's 16th birthday Friday night and Barrett's 2nd birthday on
Saturday! Luke had a 30 foot long dual racing slip and slide that
ended in a pool...it was AWESOME. Caleb got to play around on
it early before all the big kids showed up.

Saturday after Caleb's 3 hour nap (I think he was still worn out from

Luke's party!) we headed over to Barrett's house. Barrett LOVES

all things that have to do with yard work...mowers, weedeaters,

blowers, etc. So, what better than to do a mower themed party!

Barrett's yummy cake! His Mommy Amanda made it and it was

great! She used rice krispy treats dipped in chocolate as the

wheels. So creative and so delicious!

Staying Cool

I could take a thousand pictures of Caleb each and every time that we
go to the pool. He is just SO happy and loves splashing around. We
went Friday morning and he wore himself out, which meant he took a
great afternoon nap!

2 Years

Thursday morning Caleb had his 2 year old "well baby" checkup.
For his birthday he got an awesome doctor kit, so we had been
practicing for this visit, looking in ears, listening to heart beats,
and giving shots. Overall, he did pretty good. He looked in Dr. B's
ears as she looked in his and even gave the nurse a shot after
she gave him his! It was pretty cute. Caleb weighed 27 pounds, 11
ounces and was 36 and 1/4 inches long. That puts him in the 50th
percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. Dr. B assured
me that it's perfectly normal for him to go some days without
hardly eating at all and pig out on other days. That made me feel
better since sometimes I wonder how he can survive on 2 pretzels
a day.

Somehow we got stuck in the pink room, but Caleb didn't
seem to mind. He had all of his doctor toys ready to go.

50 Cents

It has been SO hot here that we haven't ventured outside much this
week. On Wednesday we met Devon and Eli at the mall for a little
retail therapy. Caleb was great as we hit the dressing room 3 times
and even strolled around the mall. As we were leaving he noticed
the big green truck. 50 cents was definitely worth that smile!

We're back!

After a wonderful week spent with family at Claytor Lake in
Virginia, we are back to usual at home. Creed spent part of
his father's day fishing (his very favorite thing to do!) with my
Dad and Papa, while I floated around on a raft (one of my
very favorite things to do!) Don't worry about Caleb...he had
a grandmother, a great-grandmother, two cousins, and two
uncles to play with. LOTS of pictures coming...

C is for Celebration!

Caleb celebrated his 2nd birthday with family and friends on Sunday
afternoon. Since Caleb loves cookies, we went with a Cookie Monster
theme. It was SO much fun, despite the heat. All the kiddos had
sweaty, red faces as they gulped down juice box after juice box. But, I
am pretty sure that they all had a blast!

Next year Eli and Hayden will be running around too. They both

turn 1 in November.

On a side note, Luke plays on his high school's basketball team

and they are playing in this summer league. Last night Luke

scored 18 points in the first game! Whoo Hoo, Go Luke!!!

When it was time to open presents, Sydney was there to help.

She turns 3 in August, and was the present opening pro at the

party!

One of Caleb's gifts was a new sprinkler, and before you knew it,

all the babies stripped down to their diapers to cool off. Yes, that

is my husband running around shirtless as well.


I'd say it was a success. 'Til next year...
