Luke, at 3 Years Old

Happy 3rd Birthday, Luke Michael!

This morning when I woke you up and started to sing Happy Birthday to You, you cried, "No, I stay two!" You are precious, sweet boy, and I wouldn't object to you staying this age forever!

So we will never forget this sweet age...

You wear a 3T shirt (some 2T still fit) and mostly 2T pants. You would prefer to wear pajamas all day, though.

You are a home body and would rather stay at home and play than go anywhere. 

You love your blankie (both big and little) and still sleep in a Sleep Sack. You transitioned fine to a toddler bed and still love to sleep. 

Foods you prefer: bars, Goldfish, pretzels, popcorn, apples, cereal with milk, yogurt, peanut butter, and raw carrots.

Strong dislikes: meat, cooked vegetables, casseroles, etc. This could actually be a really long list...

You love to cuddle up on the couch with someone, and would watch a movie or TV all day that way. You love to watch Paw Patrol, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Blues Clues, Tom & Jerry, and Sponge Bob. (I cringe as I write Sponge Bob...) Your also love all the new Alvin and the Chipmunk movies, although you will sit down and watch almost any movie with your brother.

  

At bedtime, you usually request that we sing one of three songs: "Wagon Wheel," "10,000 Reasons," or "Boys 'Round Here." Later, after we've put you to bed, we'll hear you singing these songs over the monitor.

You love diggers, trucks, and trains. Your favorite books are "Roadwork," "Demolition," "Freight Train," "Machines Go to Work," and "Machines Go to Work in the City." It's amazing how you know the technical names of all the big diggers and machines- you even teach Caleb some of them. 

You wear underwear all day, sleep in diapers, and are doing great with that. However, you still request a diaper each day and do your business in it. The funny thing is, you bring me a diaper, and after I put it on, you go to the bathroom, close the door, turn on the fan, and then come out a few minutes later when you are finished. Silly boy!

You really like to dress up in various costumes, although Spider Man and Luigi are your current favorites.

You love school, especially your teacher, Ms. Amy, and seem to have fun with your friends there. You always have lots to tell about what you did each day.
