I've Got Mail!

While Caleb is bummed out that Marshma and Papa are in Florida
until the end of November, he does enjoy the frequent packages that
Marshma sends him. He gets SO excited when we see them in the
mailbox. This week he got his first package...a "funny" book, awesome
water bottle, and a "Go Gators" shirt, as he calls it. Thanks, Marshma
and Papa! We all miss you bunches!!!

Like Luke

It became very apparent last weekend while Luke was staying with
us that Caleb looks up to his Uncle and wants to be just like him.


If Uncle Luke eats taco soup, then Caleb eats taco soup. If you've
spent much time with Caleb lately then you know taco soup is not
anything he would normally eat!



And when I couldn't find Caleb's shoes, it should have occurred to
me that I should check by the front door where Luke left his. Yes,
Caleb moved his shoes from the basket in the laundry room to
be near Luke's. Precious!

He's just not ready

I need to repeat that over and over to myself as I think about the
prospect of potty training...He's just not ready. I'm ready, but he's
not, and I guess that's what matters.

I thought I'd share...About once or twice a month (since July) I've
put a little effort into potty training, just to see if he's ready yet.
Today I picked up some refill Pez for Caleb's Pez dispenser as
a new potty treat to use today. He was SO excited about the Pez
and immediately sat on the potty after school. He sat, and sat, and
sat. Finally he was able to go a little, so he was rewarded with
his Pez. I put his Mickey underwear on him and we talked about
them. "When you have to go pee, make sure you tell Mommy
and you can go on the potty. Don't pee pee on Mickey! Okay?
Now tell me, what are you going to do when you have to go pee
pee?" "Tell Mommy." "That's right! No pee pee in Mickey. Tell
Mommy and you can go on the potty. Where are you going to go
pee pee?" "In the potty."

That conversation lasted about 15-20 seconds. But, it was a record
setting 5 seconds later that he peed all over the floor. And, while I
was cleaning that mess up, amazingly another puddle appeared
on the kitchen floor.

Please remind me...He's just not ready, Pez or no Pez!

New Big Red Bed

Monday evening, with the help of Grandma and Grandaddy, Creed and
I successfully turned Caleb's toddler bed into a full size bed. Actually,
the manufacturer made it fairly easy, especially considering we were
using the worst set of directions ever written. Since I still have not
decided on his bedding, I took Caleb to Walmart earlier that day and
let him pick out his sheets....hence the "New Big Red Bed," as he calls it.

One of his first comments: "Two pillows!"

SO excited!

All tucked in and ready for bed. So far, he is doing great! Monday

he slept all night and last night he only woke up once. Hopefully that

will continue!

Picnic

The other evening while Daddy was playing golf, Caleb got to

enjoy a Happy Meal picnic in the living room. Pardon his facial

expression...that's what he now does when you ask him to smile.

Baby Cake Update

**18 Weeks**

Baby Cake and I are both doing well. Cake moves like crazy,

and I just adore all of those little kicks and jabs! I first felt them

at week 15, but since week 16 they are a constant throughout

the day. At first I was only feeling them if I was still and laying

down. Now I am reminded of this little one all day, and I just

love it! Creed has even had the chance to fell them on a few

occasions!

My nauseousness has subsided and I have most, if not all, of

my energy back. I've been working hard on Caleb's room...we

are transitioning him from a toddler bed to a full size bed this

week, hoping that goes well. By moving him up we are going to

be able to use his crib mattress, glider, and ottoman in the

baby's room. Now if I could only find reasonably priced nautical

sheets!

Just think...one week from today we will know if Cake is a baby

boy or baby girl! We're SUPER excited...let the countdown

begin!
