Change "Man Bag"

***I originally intended to title this post "change purse," then realized that
it needed a more manly title.***

Caleb loves going to the mall and one of his favorite things to do is to
throw pennies in the fountain. One day after leaving the mall we visited
Grandma and he saw this huge jar of pennies that she has. After telling
her about the fountain, she got him a change "man bag" and filled it
with pennies for our next trip. Since then we have gone twice, each time
emptying the man bag. Luckily Grandma has lots more pennies!

Holiday World

Yesterday we went to Holiday World and Splashin' Safari with
the Dursts. Caleb and Madalyn had SO much fun! While it was
really hot and really, really crowded, it was still a great day.

Like at Kings Island, Caleb loved riding the rides!

I was slightly shocked that they had "rockets" with machine
guns on them.

Madalyn and Caleb loved the airplanes. I think she yelled,
"again," before the ride even came to a stop!

Caleb took over as pilot- look at that smile!

This boy is FEARLESS when it comes to water things!

His face says it all! He was having so much fun with his Daddy!
Mommy got to sit this one out and Daddy chased him all through
that water playground thing (I have no idea what to call it!) in the
background.

Daddy and Caleb racing down the slides. That's Caleb on the
right. Sadly, this slide was his favorite, and after going down
countless times, the "slide attendant" measured him and said
he was too short. I wanted to tell her that her PVC pipes that
she used weren't accurate, he IS 36 inches, but I let it go.

Nothing better than an ice cream cone on a hot day!

A very messy ice cream cone!

On the way out we took advantage of everyone else being at
the water park and rode a few more rides.

I loved the old fashion boats! I think I remember riding these
when I was a kid!

A Morning Routine

Caleb wants to be strong like his Daddy! We think it's hilarious that

he joins in!

The "Yake"

Last Friday morning Caleb and I headed down to "Yake"
Cumberland with Grandmom, Grandpa, Aunt Paige, and Uncle
Luke for Grandmom's birthday weekend. Caleb officially loves
the "yake," asking to go down as soon as he woke up! His
favorite part...

...swimming naked! And, he finally got the hang of how to
float in his jacket, even doing a little solo swimming. He is
our little fish!

Aunt Paige helped Caleb make his first smore!

However, he refused to eat the smore and instead stole all the
chocolate off the graham crackers!
**
A special thanks to Uncle Luke for carrying Caleb up and down
the steps to the water each day (If you have been to Cumberland
lately then you know what a big deal this is!), especially when he
was naked and we didn't have a towel!

First Real Backpack

We are SO excited that Caleb is starting a preschool program this
school year at Uncle Luke's school, Whitefield Academy. He will
go from 8-11:45, two mornings a week, and I think he will love it.
(Fingers crossed!) First order of business: order a backpack, the
first item on his school supplies list. Yes, I got a (lengthy!) supplies
list, and I would be lying if I told you I wasn't super excited about
crossing everything off. I love new school supplies! We have a
parent night orientation coming up one evening in August,
(Luckily my Mom said she has been to the orientation enough that
she can skip this year and keep Caleb for us!), followed by a "meet
the teacher" afternoon. I am just so excited for Caleb!!

Trying on his new backpack (without pants.)

Sikura Land

Who needs Disney Land when you can visit Sikura Land instead?!!
This past Wednesday Caleb and I headed to Lexington to visit with
the Sikuras, the family that I used to babysit for. Jes (8), Jackson (6),
and Jaden (4) showed Caleb how big boys play, and he loved every
second of it!

Caleb loved running and falling down in the water.

And of course he loved the slides. The boys were so sweet and
patient with Caleb as he learned to climb to the top. By the end
of the day he was doing it all by himself!

He sure was having a blast!

Enjoying a picnic lunch.

The Sikura boys just got back from hockey camp and showed
Caleb some of what they learned.

Jackson was SO patient and loving towards Caleb. He really
liked helping him out.

Just cruising around!

After lunch we played in the big pool. Four boys with squirt guns
means the mommies are going to get wet!

Aren't they cute together?!!

Caleb LOVED Angie and spending time at "Angie's house."
In fact, when he woke up from his nap today he asked if he
could go to "Angie's house!"
**
Thanks Sikura family for having us and for the super fun day!
We can't wait to come back!!

Left Unattended

This is what can happen when you try to fold laundry and clean
up the kitchen while Caleb is painting with water colors!

Block Party

Last week while some of us girls got together for dinner, Creed and Matt
took Caleb and Madalyn to our neighborhood's weekly "Block Party."
They ate pizza, listened to music, and JUMPED!

Hot, sweaty little messes!

Taking a break...

Sneak Peek!

Check out http://www.mdurstphotography.com/ for a sneak peek of
Caleb's 2 year old pictures. Matt always does such an amazing job,
and we are SO excited to see them all!
