Kings Island

Yesterday we headed to Kings Island for our annual family trip! It
was SO MUCH FUN despite the heat. Caleb had a blast, and is
a real daredevil! Since he is past the 36 inch mark, he was able
to ride most of the little kid rides.

Caleb's first ride was the swings. He was totally unsure of
what was going on at first.



But then the smiles came out!



Next he rode the helicopters with Daddy. Creed said that he
really liked them too.

If you look closely you can see how big he was grinning.

He, and his little friend, were both having a blast!

"Round and Round," as Caleb calls it.

Ugh. This ride made me so motion sick...but Caleb's smile

made it worth it!

Riding the train to the water park. Caleb had SO much fun there,

and it's where we spent most of our day. He loved splashing in

the pools, playing in the waterfall, and of course, sliding down

all the slides. But, then he got really tired and we decided it was

time to head home.

On the way out this exhausted boy shared a blueberry ice cream

cone with Mommy and Daddy...

...and got his second wind!

So, Creed took Caleb on his first roller coaster ride, which was a

little faster and a little jerkier than I would have preferred. But,

these two had such a good time that they had to ride "again!" (If

you click on the picture it will enlarge and you can see how much

fun he was having.)

Look Mom- No hands! That's right, my two year old put his hands

up on the ride! Hilarious!

Flying solo to end the day! And it sure was a great day!!! Can't

wait for Kings Island, summer '11.

Lake Cumberland

Happy 4th of July! We spent a few days at Lake Cumberland with
family. It was such a fun and relaxing weekend. Caleb did pretty
good on the boat and he liked the small fireworks. He'd probably
be upset if he knew what took place after he was asleep! But,
with the fan on the AC running, a desk fan in his room, and his
sound machine, the big fireworks didn't wake him (or Caroline)
up. Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures, and I am so sad that
I didn't get a shot of Caleb and Caroline together. But, there will
be many more lake trips in the future, I'm sure of that!


As Bob would say, "I'm sailing!"

He took helping Grandmom drive the boat very seriously.

This was the first lake trip that he really enjoyed swimming

and playing in the water.

Caleb ate more ice this weekend than food. I think he is

trying to start a new diet craze.

Look closely...you'll see Creed carrying Caleb up the hill. A

few years ago they determined that the dam on Cumberland

River needed to be fixed. Apparently if it broke it would flood

Nashville. And, in order to fix it, they had to lower the lake

a lot. All those rocks you see are normally under water, and

the concrete steps are under water for much of the summer.

So, we have had to become expert rock climbers to get to

the dock. We are just SO thankful to still have a dock to use!

After dinner at Lees Ford Marina (our favorite!) we walked

across the street for a little play time.

Caleb & Ava

Tuesday morning I took Caleb and Ava to the pool so they could
burn off some energy. I loved watching them play and interact.
Caleb would jump and then Ava would jump. Ava would fall down
and then Caleb would fall down. Everything went this way. So,
when one decided to drive a car along the side of the pool, the
other decided to join in...


All smiles. This is fun!

Too close!!! Look at that face! You see, Caleb also likes to drive

his cars up your legs, over your arms, across your tummy, etc. Ava

was NOT having that!

Fun

Cousin Ava came and stayed with us for a few days and we sure had
a blast. On Monday we played around the house all morning before
visiting Grandma & Grandaddy, and then Grandmom & Grandpa. Ava
and Caleb got along great playing with the different toys at the different
houses. Then we met Creed at Home Run Burger for dinner (kids eat
free night!!) and afterwards walked down to Chuck-E-Cheese for some
"fun," as Caleb kept repeating. Caleb rode every single ride they had
while Ava was more of a spectator. They did find this one simulator
that they both found very interesting. They did it over and over! It was
a fun (and exhausting!) day!

I walked in the living room and found them both reading in the

chair. So sweet.

He loves rides!

Ok, this jet ski is crazy! I had to jump on and ride with him because

it was throwing him all over the place!

This is the simulator they loved. I think they flew on a spaceship,

rode this cart through a tunnel, and raced a car. The seat would

move and shake, which they thought was great.

Party!

Caleb had his party pants on this weekend as he celebrated Uncle
Luke's 16th birthday Friday night and Barrett's 2nd birthday on
Saturday! Luke had a 30 foot long dual racing slip and slide that
ended in a pool...it was AWESOME. Caleb got to play around on
it early before all the big kids showed up.

Saturday after Caleb's 3 hour nap (I think he was still worn out from

Luke's party!) we headed over to Barrett's house. Barrett LOVES

all things that have to do with yard work...mowers, weedeaters,

blowers, etc. So, what better than to do a mower themed party!

Barrett's yummy cake! His Mommy Amanda made it and it was

great! She used rice krispy treats dipped in chocolate as the

wheels. So creative and so delicious!
