Notice the Ticker??

Caleb's ticker reads "1 year, 11 months, 4 weeks, and 1 day old"
today. Looks like somebody is about to have a birthday!!!!! Two
more days and our baby will be TWO! How in the world did that
ever happen?!?!

Playing in the Rain

One day last week Caleb and I got all ready for the pool- swim suits on,
sun screen applied, pool bag loaded with toys, and snack cups filled.
Only as soon as I opened the garage it began pouring rain. Since
Caleb was already dressed to get wet, I let him run around in it. He
had so much fun!!

Daddy's Birthday

Daddy's birthday was Thursday, so we celebrated with a
yummy dinner at El Toro and a Reese's Cup ice cream pie
from the Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen- YUM!!!

Splash Pad

Last night after dinner Caleb wanted to go to the pool, but I was
not in the mood to get everything together for such a short period
of time. SO, I got out last year's birthday present from his Grandma
Kathy and Aunt Erika. Since he doesn't remember last summer, it
was like a whole new toy...he LOVED it! In fact, when it was time
to come in he threw the biggest fit of his life. It rivaled Uncle Luke
during his terrible twos. Seriously. Biggest so far. (I'm sure there
are more of those where that one came from!)

What is it with this kid and drinking the water???

He had so much fun standing up and then throwing himself

down to make a big splash.

I brought his slide over and that brought the splash pad to

a whole new level of fun.

I think he would have continued sliding all night long if

given the chance.

You'll find us...

...at the pool! Hooray- it's OPEN for the season! Our neighborhood
pool is really laid back, and has lots of little kiddos Caleb's age, so
we plan to spend as much time there this summer as possible!

Caleb had the baby pool, I mean "Caleb's pool," all to himself

for the first hour we were there.

"Don't drink the pool water!" If I had a dollar for every time

I said that...

Snack time

Swimming in the big pool with Daddy.

"I'll never..."

You know when you see someone out with their children and you
think to yourself, "Well, I'll never (fill in the blank)". I'll never let my
child drink sugary juices. I'll never let my child have a cookie just
because he screams for one. I'll never ignore my child as they
have a meltdown in Walmart.

My all time "I'll never" has to do with putting my child on a leash.
You know, the stuffed animal backpack thing that the child wears
with a rope attached... If you are not sure what I am talking about
pay attention next time you go to the zoo or state fair. You'll see.

So, with Caleb's behavior lately, and his love to run from me while
pretending that he doesn't hear me screaming his name has made
me quit using that "I'll never." Because really, who knows.

Garrett's Graduation Party

We were so happy that Caleb was feeling better and able to attend
Garrett's graduation party on Sunday afternoon. We are SO proud
of Garrett! He just graduated from Male and will attend the College
of Mount St. Josephs and play football. (Go Lions!) We wish Garrett
all the best and can't wait to come up and watch a game!

Eating some "yummies" with Nathan. (Caleb is slowly, but surely,

Bossy Update

I know he is sick, but he may be taking this whole bossy thing a
little too far...

I got him a new movie today, Sesame Street Kids Favorite Songs.
Elmo was singing with some kids on screen and I heard Caleb
say, "Elmo, No!" Even Elmo is bugging him now!

Sick Entrance

I took Caleb to the doctor this morning and it turns out that he has
a double ear infection and is working on some chest congestion.
He had been out of sorts and running a fever since Tuesday, but
when the cough started yesterday, I decided it would be best to
take him in. Hopefully after a few doses of the pink medicine, he
will be feeling better.

On another note, he is SO bossy! It has come on strong this week
and it really cracks me up. For example, when a flock of geese flew
over head making their honking noises, he looked up and said
"Aguh, no!" (Aguh=bird.) Then today while we were at the doctor's
office I was tapping my foot of the floor. He climbed out of my lap,
squatted down by my foot, and said "Feet, no!" Hilarious.
