Whatever it takes

One thing that I have learned from being a parent is that you
must be resourceful. You learn to turn spoons into toys at
restaurants and you can make anything into a song. I've tapped
my brakes at stop lights to keep the car moving and even sung
"The Itsy Bitsy Spider" (fairly loud) in the dressing room at The
Limited.

While I was getting ready today, I ran out of ideas...Caleb played
in his bouncy seat while I took a shower. When that was taking
too long, I had to sing "Apples & Bananas". (Caleb's favorite: "I
like to oat, oat, oat, opples and banonos.") While I was getting
dressed and drying my hair, he laid on the floor and played with
his alphabet ball. I ended up singing "The Ants Go Marching." (It
takes SKILL to march and act out the parts while drying your hair,
I might add!) Finally, this is what we had to resort to while I put
on my makeup...

I was happy because he quit fussing and I didn't have to
sing. He was happy because he could watch me put on
makeup and stare at his reflection in the mirror. It was a
win-win situation!

Next time I list a house with two sinks in the master bath, I will advertise "Master Bath features two garden tubs for tots". We loved it...especially Jes.
