Exhausted

On Thursday morning Creed took Caleb to open gym, and
apparently wore him out. This picture was taken after lunch.
Creed said he simply carried him up to his bed and he
continued sleeping. It's never that easy when I'm home with
him. ;)

All Better (Thank Goodness!)

Caleb is all better and over his...whatever he had. He has
progressively felt better each day, and I think that he is 100%
today. We are so thankful for our healthy little boy!

Taking advantage of the warmer (40s) weather, I let Caleb play
outside for about 10 minutes today. He thought about riding
his 4 wheeler and car, but decided that he should water the
bushes and trees instead. :)

He LOVED running in the snow. He went back and forth in
front of our house probably 10 times.

You know he's sick if...

...this is what he does all day.
This was Caleb most of the day Friday. I made the decision early
yesterday morning to stay home from work to take care of him and
I'm so glad I did. He'd be up playing for a few minutes, then on the
couch for a few hours. We watched everything from "Mickey Mouse
Clubhouse" to "Yo Gabba Gabba." (By the way, have you seen
"Yo Gabba Gabba?" That is, by far, the strangest thing I have
ever seen.)
Today he seems to be better, although no where near 100%. He
hasn't run a fever since midnight, so that is a step in the right
direction. I know part of his problem at this point is exhaustion.
From midnight until 8 this morning he literally slept on me, so I'm
pretty tired too. Hopefully after his nap he will be more like himself!

Tylenol...Motrin...Tylenol...Motrin

I remember the days when Caleb was on a 3 hour eat/sleep
schedule... Since yesterday afternoon he has been on a 3 hour
medicine schedule. The doctor said that Caleb simply has a
virus that needs to run its course. I was so happy not to hear that
it was strep or an ear infection, although the doc did say his
throat is pretty red. We are hoping that his fever leaves for good,
sooner rather than later, and that his congestion doesn't result in
an ear infection. And hoping for a good night's sleep tonight!

Incredible Daves

Sunday night we went to Incredible Daves for food and fun, and
it sure lived up to it's name. Caleb definitely thought it was
incredible! He loved all the lights and the huge fish tank while
eating. The UK banner also got his attention- "Go!" But, it was
all the fun after dinner that was such a hit for Caleb.

First of all, Caleb was FREE! He didn't need a wrist band for any
of the bouncies, and we (Creed & I) were also free with him. I love
the whole "Under Two: Free" rule!

Caleb noticed the two story slide right away and when I asked the
worker if Caleb could go down he said, "sure." I began climbing
the "ladder" and when I was about half way up the boy yelled back,
"Just make sure he slides by himself." What?!! I'm panicking
because I don't think there is any way that he would ever go down
alone and I'm not sure how I can get him back down. There is no
way that I could ever manage to carry him back down the ladder
thing, and I didn't want to push my screaming child down the slide.

As we got to the top I am seriously worried and have no earthly
idea what I am going to do. As I'm frantically trying to figure this
out, my 19 month old pushes out of my arms with all his strength
and before I know it he is flying down the two story slide.

All by himself!

We did it over and over and over again. I was a sweaty mess
from all the climbing so Creed even had to take over for a few
times!

Caleb also loved the "under 36 inches" bouncie. It had all
sorts of things to play with, although it was impossible to
get a still picture of Caleb. At one point I did have to run two
clearly not "under 36 inches" boys from the area. I used
my teacher voice and even threatened to get a worker. They
got the hint and left. And, I think I may have totally
embarrassed Creed.

How do they always know what to do?!!
*****
If you don't mind, say a little prayer for Caleb. This afternoon
he ran a pretty high fever and was feeling awful. He perked
up after his fever broke, but I'm sure hoping he sleeps well
tonight and is okay tomorrow!

American Saturday Night

Thursday night while Caleb was rockin' out at his grandparents
house, Mommy and Daddy went to see (and sing along with!!)
Brad Paisley as he was rockin' out in Rupp Arena. Since
Chevrolet is a sponsor of his concert, Bachman scored 10
amazing tickets...three rows back from his center microphone!
Brad Paisley put on an amazing show- he played and played
and played some more. Sadly, my camera's battery died
during his second song, which totally bummed me out. But, I
still got a couple of pictures.

Not bad seats, huh?!! Towards the end of the show he sat
on a stool and sang an entire song right there. That was
amazing!

Bachman also scored two back stage passes, and Ryan
was kind enough to pass his along to me! It was super cool
getting to meet him and having our picture made. Too bad
I look terrible! Oh well!

Rockin' Out

Thursday night Caleb spent the night at his Grandmom and Grandpa's
house while Mommy & Daddy had a night out. From the looks of these
pictures, I'd say he had a great time! Are drum lessons in our future??

A Conversation

If we only knew what he was saying...

Bowling

Yesterday Caleb met his friend Barrett at the bowling alley for
a little toddler bowling. The boys had a great time, and yes,
toddlers CAN bowl! We went right when it opened so there
were only a few other people there. They set up a ramp for us
to use and Caleb got to push the ball down it. He watched very
seriously as the ball went down the lane, and then would run to
watch the ball come back up. He even got a spare one time!!!

Pushing his green ball. He probably said "ball" 500 times
while we were there.

Watching the ball do down the lane

This was his favorite part- he was fascinated with how it
all worked.

Best buddies!

Good Posture

Lately Caleb has begun to stand and walk with his hands behind
his back. He does it all the time! Apparently he just wants to make
sure he has good posture. :)
