There's Nothing Cuter...

...than a naked baby in a sun hat!

I've been filling Caleb's pool up each morning so that by
noon, the water isn't too cold. He loves playing in the pool
and he really loves being naked!

My favorite...I couldn't resist!

Papa Joe

As many of you already know, Caleb's Papa Joe passed away
Sunday morning. Brother Kevin, our pastor, reminded us last
night that any tears are not for Papa Joe, they are for us because
we know that Papa Joe is in Heaven, no longer in pain. While
it hurts to know that Caleb won't remember spending time with
Papa Joe, I'm certain that he will know him through pictures and
stories.

We love you, Papa Joe!

All that's left...

of my baby.

From crawling (Yes! He crawls now!)around the house and
getting into everything, to finishing off a whole plate of ravioli,
it seems that the morning bottle is all that I have left of my
baby.

Recently, Caleb has turned into such a big boy. It is
so hard to believe that he is 11 months old today! Wow! In
the past two weeks he has mastered the art of crawling, pulls
up on anything (and everything,) walks around holding onto
things, and has become much more vocal. He lets you know
when he wants something, that's for sure!

Two statements made by Caleb's great-grandmother this
week can sum everything up: "He is the busiest baby I've ever
seen," and my favorite, "He sure is a demanding little thing."
Hmmm...I wonder where he gets that from??




11 Things about Caleb at 11 Months:

(1) He still LOVES The Laurie Berkner Band. (We just
ordered the cd for the car!)
(2) He is a major momma's boy.
(3) He sleeps with 2, sometimes 3, passies, a Taggie book,
two softie blankets, and a stuffed dog.
(4) He bites the side rails of his bed until the stain comes off.
(I actually thought he had a new freckle on his face last week.)
(5) He uses his teeth and pulls as hard as he can to pull off the
Gummi Rail from the front of his bed. (What a GREAT
invention!)
(6) He continues to say hi and wave to ceiling fans.
(7) If he sees his car in the garage, he insists (rather loudly) to
take it on a walk.
(8) He throws his hands in the air and lunges forward to go
down his slide. (No Fear!)
(9) New favorite book: 10 Little Ladybugs
(10) Favorite food: EVERYTHING. He loves to eat, which
might explain his gut!
(11) Anytime he hears someone cough, he mimics them
with a ridiculously fake cough.

He may be a little high maintenance and demanding, but he
sure is precious!

Time to Baby Proof...

Saving it for later

Caleb figured that he might get hungry before lunch, so he
decided to save some banana for later...




This explains why my child's hair is always sticky!

Happy Mother's Day!

This time last year I was tired, complained of a sore back, was
beginning to out grow some of my maternity clothes, and had
ridiculously swollen feet. Was it worth it????


Yep, it sure was! Today was such an amazing day, my first
Mother's Day! I am so blessed. Caleb is the most perfect
little thing that I could ever imagine. I am so thankful for him.
I am also thankful for the wonderful women in my life who have
taught me how to be a loving, caring, and supportive mother.
To them, I am so thankful. You have all set such a wonderful
example for me.



What would Mother's Day be without a cookie cake? Thanks
to my wonderful husband for all the thoughtful goodies. You
are the best! XxOoXx

A Momma's Boy for sure! (Today he fussed for the first time

when I handed him to the nursery worker at church. I think he

wanted me to feel good.)

A special thank you to Grandma & Grandaddy for taking

such great care of Caleb today while Creed & I went to

Lexington. We knew he was in great hands!

Some Serious...

Bed Head!

I took these pictures after Caleb's afternoon nap Monday.
I can only imagine the rolling, tossing, turning, and thrashing
it took to achieve this look!

Derby Weekend

We had a great Derby weekend, especially since PeePaw
and Grandma Beth were in town. Friday night Caleb's great
Aunt Dana and great Uncle Steve came over for pizza. Then
Saturday Aunt Paige & Uncle Luke babysat Caleb while we
got to go to the Derby. It was great having PeePaw and
Grandma Beth in town- This should be an annual tradition!

Caleb loved Uncle Steve's hat, so he put on a matching

one. (Isn't it cute?! Our friends Laura & Brian, who live in

NYC, got it for Caleb. Thanks, Schulzs!)

Derby Day

Riding in style...We loved the '59 Bentley!

This was the 3rd race of the day. Notice the horse covered

in mud! We were so lucky, though. While it could have been

warmer, it didn't rain on us, which was great considering

what the weather was like that morning!

And they're off!

At about this point, everyone is trying to figure out which

horse is the number 8.

At this point, shock and disbelief. 50-1?!!!! Wish I would

have made that bet!

Saying Goodbyes

PeePaw had to get some lovin before he left this

morning.

PeePaw & Grandma Beth- We miss you already and

can't wait to see you again!

Another cut

Caleb has officially had his second haircut at 10 1/2 months
of age. After getting pretty shaggy, I decided to take him
this past Friday morning. The following picture was taken
prior to his cut- notice the hair covering his ears!

(I should explain this picture...Caleb needs a new nickname,

something along the lines of "Mr. Daredevil." This picture

shows Caleb's new thing. He simply lets go of things on

purpose so he can fall on his backside. He thinks it's funny.

I don't. You'll see why in a following picture.)

Since Daddy was at work, Mommy had to hold Caleb

for this hair cut while Uncle Luke took pictures. See how

calm Caleb is...Notice the clippers in the lady's hand. I

decided not to post the pictures of what happened next.

Basically Caleb hated the clippers and I had to literally

hold him down while she finished. Not fun! Scissors only

from now on. (The "fade" was worth it, though!)

Caleb's new do. Fairly even, considering he had to be

held down.

Back to Mr. Daredevil...See the blue line on his forehead.

Yep. That's from letting go and hitting the table. First of many

boo boos, I'm sure!
