Breakfast of Champions

After a 5 ounce bottle, a bowl of oatmeal mixed with fruit,
1/3 of a banana, and 3/4 of a whole wheat waffle, Caleb
wanted to show off his muscles...

His Way

Caleb likes to do things his way. Case in point...he has
turned his musical table into a push toy. His new favorite
thing is to push it throughout the house, although I try to
keep him on the carpet in case he falls. Before you ask,
yes, he has a real push toy, he just chooses not to push
it.

Not What I Expected...

I'm not a huge Oprah fan, but when the topic interests me,
I'll watch. Today the topic was Motherhood, so I decided to
see what Oprah had to say. I only watched the first half, but
mainly it was about how hard it is to be a mother. There
were women talking about how being a mother is much
harder than they expected, and how it isn't something that
we really talk about.

Motherhood isn't want I expected either, but for totally
different reasons as those discussed on Oprah. Being a
mother is much better than I could have ever imagined!
Sure there are some days that are better than others, but
what I can say, especially when this is what I find when I go
into Caleb's room after his nap...






Does it get any better than that?!! My precious child, who
refuses to pull up, will do whatever it takes to see out of his
bed. Love ya, Caleb!

Not sure what to do now...

Picnic in the Park

On Thursday we decided to have a picnic in the park. The
weather was beautiful and Caleb loved being outside. We
enjoyed lunch, and as luck would have it, the ice cream
truck made a stop in the park. So, Caleb got to enjoy his
first snow cone! It was the perfect afternoon!


Don't you just love Caleb's Guy Harvey shirt?! He looks
like such a big boy. Thanks Marshma!

The Long Drive

I'll end our posts about our week at the lake with this
picture. It took right at 7 hours to get to their lake house,
which seemed like forever! Caleb did okay...much better
on the way home. He ate a lot of Cheerios and cheese
puffs, played with a lot of toys, and watched his very, very
favorite video. With his car seat still facing backwards, I
thought I could turn his mirror so he could see the TV
screen in the reflection. Caleb had his own idea of how
he'd watch...

First Boat Ride

While we were at the lake this past week, Caleb got to take
his first boat ride. This is something that Creed & I have
imagined since we found out we were first having a baby,
and needless to say we were so excited!

For a first ride, I have to say it went well- no tears! The loud
motor didn't bother him, although the wind in his face did
seem to get on his nerves a little. We are counting down the
days till summer!

Center of Attention

As you can imagine, Caleb was the center of attention this
week at the lake. And, he enjoyed every second!

Just a few miles from PeePaw's lake house was the state
park, which had a fun playground. One afternoon while Daddy
& PeePaw were fishing, Marshma & I decided to take Caleb
to check things out. While there weren't any swings, Caleb did
seem to enjoy the slides.

Spring Break at the Lake

With the week off, we decided to head down to Virginia to
meet PeePaw, Grandma Beth, Uncle Drew, Marshma, &
Papa at Claytor Lake. It was a great week filled with lots of
playing, fishing, laughing, and eating.
