Red River Gorge

We spent last weekend with Grandmom, Grandpa, Paige, Luke and Briana at Red River Gorge. We had a huge cabin so we could all stay together and it worked great. We built a campfire and roasted smores, watched football, went hiking, and relaxed a little in the hot tub. Such a fun, relaxing weekend!

We all went up to Natural Bridge. This is the view from on top of the arch...

Caleb stayed up late Friday, so when he was dragging on Saturday, we thought he was just tired...

Luke loved everything about the weekend, saying it was the best weekend ever. He loves being outside and looking for rocks!

We made our way to another outlook...that's Natural Bridge in the background.

We took Luke "mining" and he thought it was the greatest thing ever.

He loved his treasure, especially the fools gold!

Unfortunately, Caleb started running a fever that night and Creed and I took him home the next morning. Luke stayed and got to go mining again and on another hike. Apparently the hike was very intense and Uncle Luke had to really work hard to get Luke up there!

They made it up Cloud Splitter!

Luke got to go in his first cave!

"Best weekend ever!"

Labor Day Weekend

We spent Labor Day weekend at Claytor Lake...without PeePaw. He was on-call all weekend and couldn't come, but Grandma Beth came for a day, Uncle Matt stopped by for a day on his way back home, and Uncle Drew actually spent the weekend with us. We also took the Bachmans with us, so it was a blast!

Saturday was cool and rainy, so we spent time indoors. The kids played, put on shows, and spent time in the hot tub while we watched football and ate. :)

While waiting for the girls to show up, Caleb and Luke spent time jumping in the cold lake and then soaking in the hot tub.

It was sunny Sunday so we were out before lunch. Edie preferred the baby pool to the cool lake water. She was such a sweet girl...she didn't fuss or whine once until I think Monday evening!

They paddle boarded

and did some dock jumping.

Clarabelle and Milly are just a few months younger than Luke, so they had a big time together! They are such sweet girls and total lake rats like my boys!

Uncle Drew and his girlfriend Jana took a tube ride and when they were thrown off, they took the tube handles with them. Oops!

Giggles and smiles

That night the kids put on a show. It was classic. Music...dancing...and lots of laughs!

There was even another show the next morning!

Monday was much warmer!

Can you spot Edie?!! The lake provided the perfect white noise!

The grownups got in on the dock jumping! Mid-back flip...

Such a fun weekend and friends and family!
As the girls were leaving, I told them that they should come back again and Milly asked, "Can we come next weekend?" Such a sign of a great weekend, and I think we all wished we would be back!
