Huber's 2015

Our annual trip this fall to Huber's with the Durst family will be one that always sticks out in our minds...

We met the Dursts Saturday evening at the farm at 6:50, and unfortunately, found out that they were finished taking wagon rides to the pumpkin patch. What?! According to their website, they didn't close until 8pm, so we went to the store to talk to someone...anyone who would help. The sweet high school girl said she understood our frustration and would get her manager.

The manager came over to us and actually said "I don't know why people wait until the last minute to come here" and "We have been open since 9am." I stayed calm and reminded her that it wasn't 7:55...it was just now 7 pm, which isn't last minute by any stretch. However, her nastiness wouldn't budge and we walked out of the store with some bummed out kids.

(This all happened after Creed offered a tractor driver $20 to take us...she said no, she would get in trouble, but she would do it for $50. What?!!)

So, my ingenious husband loads us ALL (except Matt...he didn't want to get in trouble...haha!) up in the Traverse and he drives us out to the pumpkin patch. The kids picked beautiful pumpkins (he chose a NICE patch to stop at!) and then we loaded back up and drove to the store to pay. While my car was COVERED in that brown dirt/dust, it was totally worth it. We will always remember the year that we drove out there ourselves...

My, oh my, how those sweet kiddos are growing up!

Our "VIP" patch was full of perfectly shaped and pretty clean pumpkins!
