Recently...

October is simply flying by! Hard to believe that the month is almost over...

Caleb spent a fun evening celebrating his friend, Susan, at My Gym.

Luke is a fantastic shopper, and Wal-Mart is a favorite. He especially loves two of the greeters that work there. One day, Mr. Hans ran into his greeter office and brought out this toy motorcycle for Luke. It was a big hit. (I hated to think about the kid that left it in the cart one day...)

Come into my shop!
(He was selling a variety of products at discounted rates.)

Happy Hour 1/2 price milkshakes at Steak & Shake

One morning Luke and I met friends at the Science Center. He manned the checkout.

When these brothers use their imagination and work together (without fighting), they have a great time. Love their conversations!
Trio "snap" blocks, animal figures, and magnets

To celebrate what will probably be our last 80+ degree day, we met friends at the park right after school yesterday and played until dinner.

Luke's Knock Knock Joke

This is Luke's signature joke.

He made it up a while ago and it's always his go to when he wants to get a laugh. Sometimes it's a little louder with a little more emphasis, yet it never seems to disappoint. I think it's the simplicity. ;)

Knock, knock
Who's there?
Honk
Honk who?
HOOOONNNNK!

Sunday Sweets

The past two weeks we have ended our weekend with a sweet treat. One week we took a few Graeters pints and cones home with us and another week we filled our cups with yogurt and toppings.

Smiles all around!
(I also just noticed that on both Sundays Caleb was in a plaid, button down shirt and Luke was in a white, navy, and green striped shirt. Ha!)

It's the simple things in life that bring so much joy!

Boyd Orchards

Last Wednesday Caleb's class went to Boyd Orchards in Versailles, and I got to tag along too. The kids ate a quick lunch and then had some free time to play. This was our first trip there and Caleb and I were both impressed with all the farm had to offer. We especially loved the homemade donuts!

Picking Apples
Between the two of us, we were able to get six apples and they tasted so good. Amazing how much better they are than grocery store ones!

Finding the perfect pumpkin

What trip would be complete without a visit to the petting zoo?!!

Before we left, we made one more stop at the play area.

A lunch date with Ms.Kristen and her daughter, Kamryn.
(At some point during lunch Luke proposed marriage. We are happy to announce that Kamryn said yes.)

Creed and I attended our friend's wedding. I have known Luke since middle school and loved seeing his beautiful family. So happy for them!

Piano lessons are going great- by far, the highlight of Caleb's week! He loves practicing on his keyboard at home.

Dental checkups!
The staff just couldn't get over how good Luke was- ha!

Fall Break

Including the weekend, the boys had 6 days off of school for Fall Break. Thankfully, it worked for PeePaw and Grandma Beth's schedule to come for a visit, so they stayed with us over break. The boys loved playing with Hallie ("Hallie Girl" as Luke calls her) and I think she loved them just as much! There were lots of walks, games of fetch, trips to the park, and wrestling matches.

At McNeely Lake Park
Hallie loved going after her duck decoy in the lake.

Monday was a rainy day so we went downtown to visit the Science Center.

Two days of fall break was spent helping Marshma and Papa unpack boxes at their new house. We are OVER THE MOON with excitement, as they moved into our neighborhood! The boys now have one set of great-grandparents one street over and another set of great-grandparents two streets over. We are so blessed!

Luke's Trip to the E.R.

Last week I got a call from the preschool director at Luke's school that he had fallen and possibly needed a few stitches. She stressed that he was fine- not even crying, but the cut was above his eye and they were concerned so I picked him up and headed to Kosair.

The Tough Guy
(Seriously, this guy is so tough and so good in situations like this!)

Luke decided that he wanted to watch Wreck It Ralph while he waited for the numbing medicine to take effect. Gotta love new children's hospitals!

Luke held perfectly still and didn't shed a tear as they put two stitches above his eye. It helped that a nurse held an ipad above his face for him to watch!

Loving his Slushie- I think he might choose to go back to the E.R with all of their perks!
