5 and (almost) 2 1/2

Caleb had his five year old check up last week and did awesome. He had two shots to get and took them like a champ. And, he was super excited when the doctor told him that he wouldn't need anymore until he turned 11. (I gently reminded him that flu shots don't count!) Last week he completed kindergarten camp at his school and got to know his teacher well. He said one of the days was "the hardest day ever" when his teacher made him hold his pencil the right way and cut slowly so he'd do a good job. :)

3 feet, 7 1/2 inches tall
41 pounds
(Just above 50th percentile for both height and weight.)

Luke is loving summer and is so, so sweet these days. His talking has taken off and he's saying some three and four word phrases. He's wild, yet still such a cuddly little guy. He loves his pretend food, trucks, swimming, riding his bike outside, and playing with money. If he doesn't have pockets full of coins, you can bet he has his "purse" full of coins. (His purse is really a cloth basket.)

Caleb's slippers, a grocery cart full of pretend food, and his purple purse full of coins. :)

Luke's naps are crazy this summer. After a morning and early afternoon at the pool, he'll sleep for 3 or 3 1/2 hours before I finally wake him up. I keep telling myself that today will be the day that I let him sleep, then always end up waking him at 5 or 5:30, fearful he won't go to bed that night. What a life!
