One Month Old

This past month has flown by and it already seems as though
Luke has always been a part of the family. We are still adjusting
to life as a family of 4, although there is still a good schedule to
be worked out. Creed and I actually got to go out to a wonderful
dinner last night (thanks, Mom!) and we managed to only talk
about the kids a few times! I did feel as though I was missing
something all evening, something that has basically been
attached to me for 4 weeks...

...this little guy!

Luke, at one month old you are such a happy baby. You
eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours during the day and every 4-5
hours at night. During the day you stay awake for about
an hour after each feeding, then nap until you are hungry
again. While awake, you are happy and content (as long
as you are not having tummy issues) and like to lay on
your back. At night you are only awake long enough to eat,
(knock on wood!!) and we are so happy about that! You
love your swing and would sleep forever in it. On most
days you end up napping in your swing, but we are going
to work on getting you to nap in your crib...soon! At night
you still love sleeping in your Rock & Play Sleeper, but we
are going to try the Pack and Play...soon! (Why fix what's
not broken, right?!!) And, a tight swaddle is still a must!
*****
You have so many expressions! I swear I could take 10
pictures of you and you'd look different in all 10. My favorite
is when you wrinkle your forehead and look very concerned.
I also love when you open your mouth and look suprised. It's
as if you're saying, "Oh!!"
*****
You have outgrown your newborn clothes and are now
wearing size 0-3 months. We'll find out next Thursday at
your checkup how much you weigh, but at least for now we
know for sure you have gotten longer! You are also, for the
most part, always wearing a bib. While you don't have the
same issues as your brother, you are still spitting up at
least once, but sometimes three and four times with each
feeding. Luckily some of Caleb's bibs have a little of the
Velcro left, so we are able to use those. (I didn't buy any
bibs this time hoping that I'd get a baby that didn't spit-HA!)
*****
Luke, you are such a JOY, and we are so blessed to have
you as our son! Love you, buddy!
