Egg Hunt

Today we got together with Grandpa Kevin's side of the family
for an early Easter celebration. After a yummy brunch, the kiddos
headed outside for an egg hunt.

Contrary to what this picture may imply, the kids were happy
and excited. Apparently the sun was in their eyes.

Caleb got the hang of it real quick!
There's another one!

Checking out his loot

The little kids had no idea that their eyes contained treats!
As of 5 pm, Caleb has officially eaten 3 mini bags of jelly
beans and one mini bag of Skittles! He's happy. We're happy.

Our family

"Ga" not only helped to hide the eggs but he also helped
Caleb find them!

Keeping Watch

Caleb wanted to keep watch over the pancakes Tuesday morning
as I was cooking. Actually, I think he was just hungry and wanted to
make sure he got the first bite of "yummies," which is what he calls
food.

Gone Fishing

Can a kid have too many puzzles, or books for that matter? I
just don't think so! I LOVE buying Caleb puzzles, especially at
discount stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls where you can find
some really good deals! Last week I picked up Caleb a few
puzzles, including this magnetized fishing puzzle. Now he can
go fishing just like his Daddy!

Happy Birthday Ava!

On Saturday evening we celebrated Ava's second birthday!
It was so much fun watching the kiddos all play and interact.
Ava loved opening presents, with much help from Eli! Caleb
just ran around chasing the dog because I'm pretty sure he
didn't know dogs came that big. (Their dog is as tall as him,
and he is used to small dogs like Rhett!)

The birthday girl

Enjoying her yummy cake!

We tried to get a picture of Caleb with Creed's grandparents
that live in Charleston, but he was being camera shy.

This picture turned out much better than it did last year when
we attempted it!

"I'll show her!"

That's what Caleb was saying to himself Monday morning as we
drove home from the mall. It was only 11:30, he hadn't eaten lunch,
and with the time change, wasn't due to nap until at least 1:30. I
was on the phone with a friend and noticed him nodding off in the
backseat. I did everything I could to keep him up- rolling down the
windows on a 40 degree day, tickling his feet, etc. to no avail.
So, when he closed those eyes for good, I mentioned to my friend
that he'd only sleep for a few minutes. After all, he always wakes
up as soon as I turn the car off. (Remind me to never say he always!)
After slamming the car door shut, hauling him out of his car seat
and into the house, and even taking his shoes and coat off, he
continued to sleep. So I let him. And, I may have picked him up and
held him in my arms as he slept, just because I miss doing that. ;)

Busy (But Fun!) Saturday

On Saturday I kept Ava, which meant that Caleb got to play
with his 2 year old cousin (her birthday was Friday!) all day.
As soon as she got there I loaded them up and we went to
TJ Maxx, Target, and stopped by Grandmom's house for a
quick visit.

Ava's expression tells the story. She was not happy about
riding in the cart with Caleb. She didn't want his feet to
touch her, and when he figured this out, his feet were always
touching her!

Ava has the most amazing hair for a toddler and she let me
do whatever I wanted with it. My favorite look were the pig
tails. It's amazing...when you straighten her hair out, it goes
all the way to the middle of her back!!

We were working on holding 2 fingers up. I love how Caleb
is just chillin' in this picture!

After nap time we went outside and played in the sand
box. Even though the wind was a little chilly, they both loved
being outside.

Then it was time for some ball pit action..

Isn't Ava just precious?! Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

Tuesday Mornings

We love Tuesday mornings! Creed doesn't have to work until
noon that day, which means we get to all spend time together.
This past Tuesday we took Caleb to the toddler playground
at McNeely Lake Park, the one I mentioned before that was
so crowded. But, apparently if you go at 9am on Tuesday, you
will have the place to yourself!

Caleb had so much fun walking across the wobbly bridge.
He must have gone back and forth 20 times!

The playground is recommended for ages 2-6, so there are
still a few things Caleb isn't quite big enough to do. He really
wanted to climb the big rock, but was happy to just sit on it
for a while.
**Oh, and if you go when you're the only ones there, it isn't
embarrassing when you (not aged 2-6) have a blast on the
zip line!

In His Element

I was determined to find a park that I thought suited Caleb well,
and this week I finally succeeded. On Monday we tried out the
playground at McNeeley Lake Park- South. It's not the main
playground, but another on the south side of the park. Since it
isn't the "main" park, there was only one other family there! (We
actually went to the main park later on to check out the toddler
playground and while it is larger, it was packed.) Caleb LOVED
it- he was totally in his element, and best of all, we took back
roads the whole way there so traffic wasn't an issue!

Caleb doesn't walk...he runs everywhere he goes!

UK Tie

Our friend Laura sent Caleb the cutest shirt ever. Seriously. Cutest
Ever. It's a white t-shirt with a UK "tie" on it. He wore it last Sunday
as he cheered on the Cats to a win over Florida. Apparently my
camera lovin' babe decided to show that he is still in control and
wouldn't let me take a good picture of him wearing it. Thanks,
Laura! We LOVE it!!!

I said, "Caleb, let me take a picture of you in your new shirt."
This is what he did.

Bath Crayons & OCD

Do you have bath crayons? If not, Caleb says you're missing out!
His cousin Ava gave him some for Christmas and he LOVES
them! Just see for yourself...

"Ra." (Red.)

At this point I noticed my pictures seemed fuzzy (which they
had lately!) and imagine my surprise to find the setting changed
on my camera! Hmmm. Who would have ever done that?!!

If you know Caleb very well, then you know his issues (OCD?!!)
with things needing to be in order. For example, he will probably
check and make sure your vacuum is in your hall closet if he ever
comes to visit. Anyways, part of his new found love with bath
crayons is getting to clean them up when he is finished. After all,
who would leave all those marks on a clean, white tub! Not my
toddler.
