MISSING

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MONKEY???

Name: Monkey
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Black
Last Seen: On a wagon ride coming home from Grandma
and Grandaddy's house.

My heart is breaking for Caleb as he falls asleep tonight
without his favorite possession, monkey. (Last week I crept into
his room to kiss him while he slept and found him sleeping
with monkey in his arms! It was precious!) He just loves it SO
much that it had to go on our walk tonight, just like it had to enjoy
snack time yesterday.

Sadly, we just finished driving around the neighborhood looking
for him with no luck. If only I could find it hidden away in some
cabinet tonight. Fingers crossed. Otherwise we will be visiting
the zoo on Friday.

Lookin' Good!

A Sunday afternoon

Caleb spent part of his Sunday afternoon sitting in his wagon
and enjoying a cup of Sonic ice, while watching his Daddy
mow the lawn. In his mind, this was the perfect scenario! And,
he was content until his ice melted.

No matter what, that hair above his ear on his left side
just won't lay down. I even used Creed's hair gel on it
before church that morning! As Cousin Eddie would say,
his "hair just ain't gonna lay right."

15 Months

Today was Caleb's 15 month checkup. He weighed 24 pounds
15 ounces (with his clothes on) and was 31 inches long. Still
riding that 50th percentile curve! The doctor said that he
looked great and is developing wonderfully.

A few weeks ago I got Caleb out of the car and before
I could carry him in he went and got the watering can.
Apparently he thought the plants were looking a little
dry!

15 things about Caleb at 15 months...

He LOVES...
1.His new stuffed monkey from the zoo
2.Running (anywhere and everywhere)
3.Teasing Rhett (with a cracker)
4.Opening and closing the garage door
5.Rice Crispy Treats (preferably store bought)
6.Mandarin Oranges
7.Cell Phones (He called 911 the other night. oops. They
called back to see if there was an emergency.)
8.Nail clippers (No, we don't let him play with them.)
9.Being outside (regardless of the activity)
10.Letting Rhett out of his crate

He strongly detests...
11.Diaper Changes
12.Being redirected from something he shouldn't be
doing in the first place.
13.When things are out of place UNLESS he is the one
who put it out of place (He closes doors, picks up mulch
from the sidewalk and returns it to the flower bed, etc.
OCD already??)
14. Being left in the church nursery
15.Going to the doctor

Newport

After we went to the aquarium, we decided to have lunch
and walk around the shops in Newport. We found a band
playing and Caleb dropped it like it's hot for a few songs.
He dropped it so low one time that he fell back. It was
hilarious! Even the band members were laughing, and
they even gave him a shout out!

Enjoying the live music

He's got the moves!

I was SUPER nervous about taking Caleb out to lunch
because (1) it was nap time, and (2) he isn't the best
restaurant baby these days. But, in true Caleb style, he
did the opposite of what I expected. He did great!
My boy loves salad!

Where's Caleb???

Peek-a-Boo! There he is!

More Weekend Fun

Sunday morning we loaded up the car for a mini-road trip
to the Newport Aquarium, one of our favorite places. This
was Caleb and PeePaw's first trip, and we knew they
would love seeing all the different fish. Caleb was a real
trooper on the way up...because of a wreck, it took us 2
and a half hours, but thanks to Laurie Berkner and Baby
Noah, he was fairly content.

Pretty amazing, huh?!!

Caleb loved trying to get the fish

I couldn't resist...this snapping turtle was as big
as Caleb!

At the aquarium, some of the floors are covered with
glass and you walk over the tanks. This really messed
up Caleb. He was walking and then- STOPPED! He
was not sure what to do.
Sharing his cracker with a giant turtle

And, Caleb's favorite part of the day...There were divers
in the main tank cleaning the walls. Caleb was amazed
with the girl. He even blew her a kiss and she blew one
back!

He just couldn't quite figure the divers out.

Just so you know, Daddy and PeePaw got just as much,
if not more, out of the experience as Caleb did. I think
Creed just wished he had a fishing pole...

What a weekend!

We have truly had the best weekend! It all started Friday
afternoon when I picked PeePaw up at the airport. He had
been missing his boy, so he decided to make a quick visit
to town. Friday evening we headed out to the Male vs. St. X
game to cheer on my cousin Garrett who plays for Male.
Sadly, Male didn't do so hot- I don't think they even got a
first down until the 3rd quarter! Oh well, it was still fun, and a
blast from the past for sure!

Saturday we decided to get up and take Caleb to the zoo
early so we'd be back in time to watch most of The Game,
as it was called around here. (UK vs. UL) Both Caleb and
PeePaw seemed to have a blast at the zoo...

Riding the bear

Caleb loved seeing the giraffe up close!

He thought it was so funny!

I am not a petting zoo person. While I'm not afraid at all
of the animals, I simply think they are gross. PeePaw
took Caleb in, with strict instructions from me that Caleb
was not allowed to pet the animals. (When Caleb is
bigger and doesn't put his hands in his mouth, I'll let him
pet the animals, but for now it's a look only.) The funny
thing is, he wasn't really that impressed.

He always likes the meercats
and the gorillas.

Thanks PeePaw for taking us to the zoo and for Caleb's
stuffed monkey. We sure had a blast!

Gaslight Festival Parade

As a child, I loved going to the Gaslight Festival Parade,
and can remember sitting on the curb watching it all go
by. It had been a while since I've been, so I was determined
to take Caleb this year. After talking Creed into going, we
headed out. Unfortunately, we forgot to bring chairs, which
explains Creed's expression in this picture...

Caleb got a little impatient waiting for the parade to
begin, imagine that, so we let him walk around.
He loved walking up and down the yellow lines in the
middle of Taylorsville Road...

This is my favorite picture of Caleb. The parade had just
begun and he was so confused. It's like his little mind is
wondering, "What in the heck is going on?!!"

Still trying to figure it all out

Liking what he sees

He loved when one of the floats threw him two
suckers! (sticky, sticky, sticky!!!)

And the hand clappers...
He sure caught on to what they are used for!
All in all, it was a great evening. We left a few minutes
early to try and beat the traffic. The parade was over an
hour and a half long, so we still saw a lot. We even got
a free pass to All About Kids, which made me really
happy! Now, if I could only talk Creed into going to the
arts and crafts fair...

Something Old, Something New

A few months ago Caleb let Caroline borrow his Jumperoo
and Exersaucer since he had "outgrown" them. This past
week my uncle brought them back for us, and my plan was
to just put them in the basement in storage. Imagine this, but
Caleb had a different plan...

When he saw them, something that was old news for Caleb
turned into something very new, and very intriguing! He
actually played in the Exersaucer for OVER AN HOUR! I had
time to get dinner started and watched a dvr'd episode of
One Tree Hill.

I couldn't resist re-posting these pictures. They were from
a little over a year ago...

Super cute

Every time I see Caroline I am amazed because she is
always cuter than I remember! I mean really...look at that
face!

This past Saturday we celebrated Caroline's first
birthday! She is one lucky little girl, although I think
her parents and big brothers would say that they
are the lucky ones!
She is pulling up and will stand on her own for a few
seconds.

Caroline loved looking in the bags and playing with the
tissue paper.

This riding toy came from Grandma and Grandaddy.
They had it at their house for a few weeks, and Caleb
had been taking it for test drives...making sure everything
worked!
Since Caleb got his car last Christmas, he has
loved it. We thought it only fitting to get Caroline
her own pink one!

While Caroline played with her car, Caleb took the
opportunity to play with the riding toy. I think he will
miss it being at Grandma and Grandaddys, even if
it is a princess theme!
