Happy Birthday, Sweet Madalyn!

Caleb went to his first friend birthday party today. Yesterday
was Madalyn's first birthday!! It is hard to believe that it has
been one year since Madalyn surprised us all, coming three
weeks early. Caleb is so lucky to have such a wonderful
friend, and we can't wait to celebrate many more together!

The birthday girl in her precious dress

Caleb had fun playing with Matt

Madalyn was very intrigued as we all sang, "Happy Birthday."

Amazed...

Yummy cake! She'd been waiting a whole year for this!
Sorry Caleb...no cake until June!

Smirk

The other morning I was trying to take a few pictures of Caleb
in his cute pjs. Creed and I both did everything we could to get
him to smile- but all he gave us was this smirk. What a little
stinker!

Wrong Way

At almost 8 1/2 months, Caleb still is not crawling. A few
weeks ago he began to roll to get what he wants, which
has proved fairly effective for him. Just in the last week he
has began to push himself to move towards something he
has his eye on. But, there is one major kink in his plan...
he goes backwards. Yesterday he saw my Mom's keys &
sunglasses on the floor and was determined to get them.
Unfortunately, this is how he ended up-

stuck under the couch!

As you can imagine, this is very frustrating for him! He
doesn't understand why he gets farther away when he is
working so hard.

Me & My PeePaw

Caleb loved having his PeePaw in town this past weekend.
Even though it was a short visit, they got to spend lots of
time playing together. You can tell from the picture...Caleb
really loves his PeePaw!

Looking forward to Spring Break...

Taste Test

Caleb's new thing during his bath is to taste the water as it
is coming out of the faucet. It is so precious to watch. He
inches closer and closer...so slowly...so carefully. He tries to
use his fingers and hands to direct the water into his mouth.
Usually he ends of getting a face full of water, which thankfully,
no longer bothers him.

The joy of succeeding!

KaZoing!

Instead of meeting at church for Cafe Mom (a mother's Bible
study) today, we all took our kids to KaZoing. Since Uncle
Luke was with us today, he got to go too. While Caleb was
the youngest child in the inflatable room, he loved it. He got
to go down giant slide and spent most of his time in the
jumper- surprise, surprise. As he gets bigger, I'm sure we will
visit KaZoing more and more.

Going up the giant slide with Uncle Luke

Unfortunately you can't see the expression on his face-
trust me, he was smiling!

You can see his expression in this picture as Uncle
Luke was helping him jump!

Back to the slide- this time it was Mommy's turn!

What a happy baby!
After all the playing, a boy has got to eat!

Outside Chick-fil-A was a giant American flag. He never
took his eyes off of it.

Fun at Madalyn's

Caleb had so much fun playing with his friend Madalyn
last week. He always loves going over to her house to
play with her fun toys.

Checking things out... :)

Caleb LOVED her Bounce & Spin Zebra- He
loves anything that he can bounce/jump on!
(I found one on Craigs List for $15...we are trying
to talk Daddy into it. "He has plenty of toys." "But,
he doesn't have this toy!")

Yoga practice...So this is how Caleb stays so bendy!

XxOoXx from Caleb

Happy Valentine's Day!

Caleb wanted to send you all hugs and kisses!

Checking out all of his mail

Caleb loved opening and chewing on all of his
valentine cards!

Reading his new book, "Where is Baby's Valentine?"

Go Pirates! This special passie came in the mail today
with one of his valentine cards. Just thinking of you,
Uncle Matt! (Creed keeps mentioning that it may be time
to trim Caleb's hair...I didn't think so until I saw this picture.
Caleb is beginning to sport the Joe Dirt look.)

Happy 8 Months, Caleb!

Wow- 8 months already! That is hard to believe! Here are
some pictures of Caleb from this past week.

He's got the look!

Winding down after a long day of playing. I snapped these
pictures of Caleb as he was watching Wheel of Fortune.

Mr. Fussy, I mean Mr. Cool!

Saturday night was an awful night in terms of hours slept.
Caleb was up for over three hours, insisting that I hold him.
(And if you know Caleb, you know that he has us spoiled,
sleeping over 11 hours a night.) We actually ended up
snuggling together in the guest bedroom, which wasn't so
awful. Even though he took a very long morning nap, he
was still Mr. Fussy so we decided to take him, and his
passie, out for a walk in his car. It was very warm and
sunny (!!!) yesterday so the sun was bothering Caleb's
eyes. That's when I remember that Caleb got sunglasses
at one of my showers. That is when Mr. Fussy turned into
Mr. Cool!

I love this picture- sunglasses, passie, and his hand on
the wheel. Does it get any cuter than that?

Full Effect

Without any clothes on, you can see the full effect of
Caleb's double jointedness (if that is a word!)

I promise I am not a mean mom, letting my child sit
around all day in tears while I take pictures. This fit
occurred last night when Creed sat him down (the
nerve!) for like 2 minutes. As soon as I began to
pick him up, the fit ended as quickly as it came on.
I think we are in for it!

Test Drive

Enjoying the warmer weather yesterday, Caleb decided to
take his car outside for a test drive. It was so cute watching
him hold the steering wheel as he rode. I have a feeling
this is how we will be spending our summer!

I couldn't resist including this picture in the post...For those
of you that don't know, I eliminated ALL dairy from my diet
when Caleb was two weeks old because he was unable to
digest the milk protein. We were told he would outgrow it,
so around Christmas I tried introducing foods with dairy-
cheese, cake, pie, cookies, more pie, and needless to say
the spitting up got really bad again. I decided to hold off on
the dairy, except I couldn't get rid of the sweet tooth.

I have continued to eat chocolate chip cookies- a lot of
chocolate chip cookies. Creed usually bakes cookies a few
nights a week, and now calls me the "cookie monster"
because I steal his cookies. Well, when our Love Dare for
this week was to tell your spouse that you love them and to
do it using something tangible, this is what I got!

For those of you wondering about The Love Dare, it is an
amazing book for married couples. Each day there is a
reading for couples to do together (it takes like 5 minutes)
and then there is a dare. We are really enjoying the process
and I would recommend it to anyone married!
