In January we found the perfect lake house for us..
However, we decided that calling it a "lake house" is a little misleading...it's our "little cabin near the lake." ;) With two bedrooms and a loft for the boys, it's perfect for us. And, it's less than ten minutes from Jamestown Marina at Lake Cumberland!
The view from the back deck:
Let it snow!
January 12th was our first official snow day!
Creed and I spent an evening out in downtown and stayed at 21c, which we loved!
January 16th and 17th were our 2nd (and 3rd) snow days.
How I feel about cleaning up all the snow gear...
Both boys played Upward basketball this winter and loved it. Uncle Luke coached Luke's team, which was extra great!
The day after Christmas was spent building all kids of things (fromm Lego sets to suspension bridges!) and (not so) patiently waiting on PeePaw and Grandma Beth to get to town.
I LOVE Caleb's expression as he opens his laptop...
It isn't a proper PeePaw visit unless lunch at White Castle is involved!
We had a wonderful Christmas this year..."The best Christmas ever," the boys say! Thankfully Caleb was back to normal and ready to celebrate Christmas Eve.
The crazy Hume cousins made their hand print Christmas tree shirts to wear to our big extended family celebration.
Christmas Morning
Luke was beyond thrilled to find that Santa brought him a dirt bike!
And Caleb could not have been more excited to finally get his XBox One.
Christmas was a low key, relaxing day at home. That evening we went to Grandma Kathy's to celebrate.
Christmas break came a day early for Luke...I got the dreaded call from the school's nurse that he was running a fever and complaining of a sore throat. Thankfully, I got him a quick appointment with his doctor and he was got started on antibiotics for strep that evening. By the next morning he was back to his normal self!
Caleb had his recital on 16th and played Christmas Canon. (The video was interrupted when I got a text message so I had to record it in two parts.) We are so proud of his piano accomplishments!
Betty the Elf apparently played Pie Face while we slept.
Baking sugar cookies was a big hit this year!
Luke was my official Reese Cup unwrapper and organized them into pyramids of 12.
The boys spent most nights camping out in the playroom. Movies and popcorn nights are their favorite!
On Thursday afternoon we took the boys to sit on Santa's lap
and then spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening at Main Event.
Decorating ginger bread houses was on the boys' pre-Christmas to-do list.
And then this happened...
More specifically, the 24 hour stomach bug hit Caleb late Friday night. Luke spent Saturday at a birthday party and then the day with Grandmom and Grandpa. I spent the day spraying Lysol, doing laundry, and wiping everything with Clorox wipes.
By noon he was feeling fine so he got to open an early gift from Grandma and Grandaddy since he had to miss Christmas at their house. He LOVES Cozmo.
Meanwhile...Luke and Caroline had Christmas Eve Eve at Grandma and Grandaddy's.
