Christmas Eve, Making the Rounds

Our first stop Christmas Eve was at Uncle Allen and Aunt
Joann's house for dinner. Caleb loved all the attention from
family and was very happy throughout the evening.

Saying "hi" to Granny Sue- his great-great-grandmother!

Caleb LOVES his GrandMom!

The Hume Grandkids

After the kids opened presents, we headed to the Stoltz
Christmas. Caleb got to sleep in the car on the way, so
he had his second wind.

Two teething babies- Braden (8 mo.) & Caleb loved
playing together in their Christmas pjs.

By 8 pm, Caleb's normal bedtime, he was fading fast...

...but he had his third wind when it was time to open
presents again!

Christmas Eve Eve

The night before Christmas Eve, my Mom's immediate side
of the family always gets together for dinner and to exchange
gifts. It was a great night, filled with lots of fun and laughter.

Caleb's favorite food- Mum Mums

This year cousin Emma "drew" Caleb's name. (Actually,
Aunt Cathy said she wanted Caleb because babies are
so fun to shop for!) Caleb is so excited to use his giant
duckie bath tub.

You may have noticed that Caleb is dressed in a short
sleeve onesie...He got really hot from all the jumping
and playing and needed to cool off.

Sporting his new UK bib

Caleb's new ride- thanks Grandma & Grandaddy!

Pizza & Presents

Last night we had our first Christmas celebration at the
Durst's house. It was a special evening because our good
friends, Laura & Brian, were in town. (Laura & Brian moved
to NYC last summer for Brian to begin his residency at
Columbia.) It was cute watching Caleb & Madalyn open
their gifts- although they both enjoyed playing with the bows
& ribbon the most!

Christmas cuties (There were NO smiles for the camera
last night.)

Ribbon & Bows...We could have saved so much $$$!

Caleb showing off his Little People Noah's Ark- thanks
Madalyn!

Matching Corduroy BIG books- thanks Laura & Brian!

Hugs from Laura

Caleb loved spending time with the Schulz's and is
looking forward to their next visit in May!

Halfway There!

Last week Caleb turned 6 months old, which means he is
halfway to his first birthday. It is hard to believe he is that old
and even harder to imagine life before his arrival. He is such
a blessing and brings so much joy to our lives daily.

At his 6 month checkup, Caleb weighed 17 pounds, 9 ounces,
and was 26 1/4 inches long. That puts him in the 50th percentile
for weight and height. The doctor said that he is healthy and
looked great. We are so thankful!

Best Time of Day

The best time of day for Caleb is between 8 and 10 am.
He is always well-rested and ready to play.

Going after the angel

Still bendy :)

**You might have noticed that Caleb is NOT wearing
a bib in these pictures. That's right...he is getting
better with the spitting up. While he still spits up more
than the average baby, he isn't going through 3-5 bibs
and 2 outfits with each feeding. What a relief!

Brush, brush, brush

Since Caleb has two teeth now, we decided it was time
to start brushing his teeth. Of course, he loved putting the
toothbrush in his mouth and anytime he can see himself in
a mirror is a great time.

Checking himself out in the mirror.

Still checking himself out in the mirror.

And somehow, with all of these up close, open mouthed
pictures....we still don't have one of his teeth!

Should we be worried?

Yes, they are trying to kiss!

Madalyn isn't giving up- she wants her kiss!

Choo! Choo!

Caleb got to see his first toy train last night, and was
very intrigued. He watched it go around and around,
never taking his eyes off of it. He especially loved all
of the sounds it made. Thanks Grandaddy for putting
it together for Caleb!

While we were there, Grandma decided to give him
one of his Christmas presents early! We need to
remember in the future to always have his passie in
while he opens his gifts. The bow & paper went
straight in his mouth.

My very own nativity scene...thanks Grandma &
Grandaddy!
