July

The rest of July...

The late night ride from State Dock back to Jamestown was just too much for his little party animal. Glasses and a glow necklace...our little Weekend at Bernies.

We spent lots of afternoons climbing and jumping off of the cliffs in Beaver Creek.

Pop up rain storms were frequent in July.

Aunt Paige spoiled the boys one day and they spent the afternoon at the zoo.

The last week of July Caleb and Luke headed off to kids camp together for three nights with church. Caleb loved it, and while Luke had "so much fun," he also reported that he is "never going back." ;)

Southern California

Creed and I spent a few days in Southern California for a Chevrolet Elite Leaders event. We had a direct flight into LAX and then headed south. We stayed at the Monarch Bay Resort in Dana Point and it was incredible.

The first night we had a dinner and the awards ceremony at the hotel.

The next morning we were up bright and early for a fishing trip.

We spent the afternoon laying by the pool (with a view of the Pacific in the distance!)

and then that night we had the privilege of attending the unveiling of the new mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette.

The next morning we were up early again, but this time we had surf lessons in Laguna Beach. It was our first ocean surfing experience and we absolutely loved it. Paddling out was super challenging but it was so worth it!

We paddled out further when our instructor spotted dolphins swimming by. It was such a cool experience.

After our surf lesson, we went back to the hotel to get cleaned up and then spent our last afternoon checking out the marina and then exploring Laguna Beach.

Lunch with a view in Laguna Beach.

The next morning we flew home and drove straight down to the lake from the airport. :)

4th of July Week

The week of July 4th is always our favorite week of the year and this year the perfect weather was just icing on the cake. We spent the week boating, surfing, swimming, laughing, and just enjoying time with family and friends.

Caleb spent a lot of time learning to drive Grandma Beth's pontoon boat. He is becoming quite the knowledgeable boater and a big help to have around.

We celebrated Marshma and Papa's 60th wedding anniversary with a luau themed party.

Silly boy

Caleb really started making some serious progress on the surf board.

Lake days are simply the BEST days. :)
