Recently...

We love Fiesta Time Amigos, a Mexican restaurant near our house, and when the weather is right, we love walking and riding bikes to dinner.

Luke has gotten really, really good at building Lego creations with random pieces. We are amazed with his work, especially how symmetrical he is able to build. I feel like this looks like a pre-designed set you could buy:

The boys had a blast celebrating cousin Matteo's birthday at Climb NuLu!

This past weekend we went to Lake Cumberland, and our friends, the Whitworths, joined us. I didn't get many pictures because with the perfect weather, we were always in the water! We spent the first day playing around an island and then with my aunt and uncle on their houseboat. The kids literally went down the slide for four hours...nonstop. They were loving it! The grownups were able to float for hours, which is the definition of relaxation in my book!

That evening we got in a few tubing runs...
Caleb and Jackson were up first!

Luke and Harper

We had dinner at Cumberland Tap at Jamestown Marina. The food was great, atmosphere was perfect, and the live band kept us entertained.

Our hotel room had a separate living room so we brought sleeping bags for the boys and they slept out there. They crashed as soon as their heads hit their pillows!

The view from our balcony..the perfect place for a cup of coffee!

With temperatures in the 90s, it warmed up quick so we were on the water way before noon. Caleb skied on glass for the first time and really appreciated it!

We headed towards Wolf Creek Marina for lunch at Fish Tales, our favorite spot to eat on the lake, but stopped near an island to let the kids explore for an hour.

First Day of School

On August 9th, the boys headed off to their first day of school! While Luke was excited for school to start back, Caleb was pretty indifferent. Both got the teachers that they wanted and both have lots of friends in their class. We are praying for a great school year!

The First Grader!

The Fourth Grader!

We met Creed at Culvers after school for some sweet treats. Thankfully, both boys had a great first day! While we were worried since this was Luke's first "full day" experience, he rocked it and was ready for day two.

Soaking Up the Last of Summer

We tried to have as much fun as we could the last week or so of July and the beginning of August. I can't remember two months that have ever gone as fast as this past June and July. I blinked and  school is starting. (Yuck!)

To finish up our summer...

We love dinner at Cunningham's Creekside

Marshma and Papa took the boys to a movie so I spent an afternoon at the pool all by myself. It was wonderful!

The boys and I spent the day at Turkey Run. We rode bikes...

and played in the creek.

Luke was determined to catch a crayfish and was thrilled when he finally got one.

We spent one rainy morning at the Science Center...

We also went to Lake Cumberland...and were not prepared for the COLD morning weather!
Brrrr!

Because the water was over 20 degrees warmer than the air temperature, the boys had no problem sliding and jumping off the houseboat.

The houseboat was anchored up to an island, so Creed and I did a little exploring and made it all the way around.

Low 60s and windy the last weekend of July...what?!!

After lunch, the clouds passed and the weather was beautiful...thank goodness! Bring on the sun and warmer temps!

Grandma & Grandaddy
with all of their (10) grandchildren and (2) great-grandchildren

Caleb got in an evening ski run

and Luke got up on skis...but didn't stay up.

Luke also crashed on the way home.

Luke lost a second bottom tooth, and like the first, Caleb pulled it out for him.

We can cross Go to a RiverBats game off our bucket list!

Jackets in August...what in the world?!!
(Although I must say, it was nice to sit at a baseball game in a sweatshirt instead of baking in the summer heat.)

Now we are organizing uniforms, buying supplies, and trying to move up bedtime. August 9th will be here before we know it. :(
