School's Out!

The last week of school for the boys was a busy one!
We had to get one last thing checked off of Luke's pre-Kindergarten list- an eye exam. Thankfully, he didn't have any issues!

This is what happens when I have to wake up Luke from his nap for carpool

Frozen yogurt is a great idea the last week of school. :)

May 27th
The LAST day for our preschooler and second grader.

Thumbs up for SUMMER!

(How could he already be going to third grade. That is such a big grade!)

Our pool happened to open on the last day of school, so we spent the afternoon swimming.

It was the perfect ending to a great school year!

Caleb's Music

Caleb has been taking piano lessons for a little less than two years, and we are so proud of the progress that he is making. While his teacher still uses basic, instructional materials, she also gives him songs that interest him. While they are advanced, and it takes a long time for him to learn them, he is able to get it over time. Recently he has worked hard on the theme song to Star Wars and the Imperial March, and I love hearing him play them. And, I'm amazed that he has it memorized!

Luke's Preschool Graduation

On May 24th, our baby (Although he doesn't like that term anymore!) had his preschool graduation program. He did a great job! He smiled, sang, and did all of the little hand motions. It was so obvious that he was having fun!

We have been so blessed by Mrs. Thomas this year!

Colin, Luke's best friend, is in the top row, on the far left.

Luke's speaking part...He memorized the verse Luke 2:52, and while it took him a few tries to get started, he finished strong!

Loving the Dentist

Both Caleb and Luke love going to the dentist. They seriously get excited when I remind them about their appointments. Last week I had to take a picture of Luke, and his giant grin, before his cleaning. He had just commented, "I just LOVE this!"
The dental hygienist and I just cracked up laughing.

Star Wars Night

The boys were so excited when Grandpa scored tickets to the Star Wars night with the Louisville Bats. Luke Skywalker and Bobo Fett were ready to go!

They loved seeing the characters and were spoiled with lots of ballpark food and sweet treats.

Thanks, Grandmom & Grandpa!

Kathryn & Jordan's Wedding

Earlier this month we spent the weekend in West Virginia for our cousin Kathryn's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception, and we all enjoyed catching up with family.

Cousins Caleb, Luke, John, and James before the ceremony

Ava and Sophia were the flower girls

They had a trolley (or a bus that was made to look just like a trolley) shuttle guests from the sanctuary to the reception, and then back to the hotel that night. The boys LOVED riding on it. That night super-hyper Luke was announcing,"Please keep your hands and feet inside the trolley at all times." to everyone on board. :)

Caleb and Peter

We stayed in a hotel with a pull out couch in the living room and the boys thought it was the coolest thing they had ever seen.

The next morning we let the boys swim for an hour or so before heading back to Louisville. It was a fun weekend!

Mother's Day

I felt so special and loved on Mother's Day!
I woke to breakfast in bed, prepared by Caleb himself. There were handmade cards, pictures colored, and even a handmade banner hanging from the mantle.

Nothing makes me more proud than being a mom to these two sweeties.

Derby Day

We had the best Derby day this year! We spent the day at the lake, then came home in time to catch the race at our neighbor's house. After that, the boys played outside with their neighborhood friends all evening until the rain came.

Recently...

A few weeks ago Luke's friend Colin spent the day with us. I took the boys to the new section of The Parklands that just opened up near our house, Broad Run Park. They played on the playground, went on a nature walk, and even found the perfect place to throw rocks in the creek.

Hard to believe how many times we went to the lake this April.
We loved those warm, spring days! (And we sure are missing them now that it's rainy and 50.)

Little brother tubed for a few minutes, but with the water still pretty cold, he called it quits. He didn't like the cold spray up on him.

I have a box of boat toys and the pontoon makes the perfect play pen. ;)

Caleb's Decision & Baptism

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
Luke 15:10

Before bed on Tuesday, October 20th, Caleb made the biggest and most important decision of his life. He prayed and asked Jesus to come into his heart and asked God to help him to stop sinning.

Before his prayer he was nervous, yet the excitement on his face when he finished was indescribable.

After I tucked him in and kissed him goodnight, I came downstairs, only to hear him bounding down the steps again. I quickly told him to go the bed because it was getting late. He responded, "But Mom, I can't sleep! I am just SO excited to see my new life as a Christian."

On April 24, Caleb was baptized during the worship service at our church. We could not be more proud of his decision and what God is already doing in his life.
