Kid's Fair with PeePaw

We had a great weekend around here! 

First, PeePaw came to visit, and anytime he is here we always have a blast, regardless of what's on the agenda. However, this weekend we happened to do quite a few fun things. I think Caleb may have said This is the best weekend ever! a few times. :)

Saturday morning we headed downtown to the Louisville Kid's Fair. I actually got free tickets from my work, so that made it even better. There were characters to meet, games, rides, and even a petting zoo. The boys were so happy to be there!

The obstacle course was fun and the boys seemed to really like it.

Caillou is one of their very favorite shows, so this meeting was much anticipated!

While the boys don't watch Ninja Turtles yet, they both like to play with the figures, so meeting one was exciting. (Even though Caleb always points out that It's just someone in a costume.)

The petting zoo was Luke's favorite part!

The first thing Caleb said to the workers were I've done this before! and Make sure I go really high!

He did go high...although I didn't get a picture because I had to follow Luke to his trampoline.

Since he barely weighs anything they had to pull him down and then let go so he'd shoot up in the air.

 He loved it and even let them flip him a few times.

Congratulations...

Swim Lessons

At the start of January both Caleb and Luke began swim lessons with UL's Cardinal Splash. While Caleb is an old pro at lessons, this was Luke's first time to take them. The first week was a little rocky, but as time progressed he did much better, and was all smiles as he jumped in and swam around. Thankfully, Jackson was in his group so he had a friend with him the whole time. 

Luke and Jackson waited (not so) patiently on the side. There were some noodle fights, lots of splashing, and many kick boards thrown in the pool. :)

Luke worked with Ms. Elise on swimming unassisted with the noodle, using a kick board, and jumping in the pool.

Caleb's group swam at the opposite side of the pool so I didn't get many good pictures of him. But, in this video, he is working on his backstroke.

Taco Thursday

A conversation at dinnertime tonight...

Caleb, Luke, and I are sitting around the table and the boys are eating. Creed walks in.

Me: Look, Creed! Luke was so hungry that he ate two tacos tonight. He really likes them.

(Luke is covered with taco sauce but has a giant grin on his face.)

(Luke rarely eats meat, so two tacos is huge.)

Caleb: We don't really love the food. We just eat it to make you happy.

Creed: Hahahahaha (as he doubles over laughing.)

Recently

A few weeks ago Caleb was recognized during his weekly chapel service. Caleb was called on stage and awarded a certificate for doing a good deed. Creed was able to attend (the school emailed us the night prior) and said that it was really sweet. 

We are so proud of our mature and thoughtful son! Way to go, Caleb!

Luke loves his new digger and his Daniel Boone coonskin cap. 

Apparently the donut holes needed to go for a ride in his trailer.

Me: Caleb, I got you some new sunglasses.

Caleb: Thanks. Could you get me some Cardinal red ones?

Dunking chocolate chip cookies in milk and talking about how much we miss Marshma and Papa. (Cookies and Reese Cups always bring up Papa conversations!)

Luke got new pajamas from the Durst family for his birthday and to say that he loves them would be an understatement. I think he wore them around the clock for at least the first two days. In this picture we are actually over at a neighbor's house playing.

Monday morning we got the dreaded 4:30 am call that school was cancelled (AGAIN!) and later woke up to this sight:

So, we spent Monday morning in pjs, playing Play Doh. Thankfully we live about one mile from a Chick fila and were able to meet neighbors there for lunch and to let the boys run off some steam.

Celebrating Luke

On Monday I took a little snack, mini-cupcakes, and ice cream to Luke for him to share with his friends. They were so cute, wearing their party hats and singing Happy Birthday to Luke. I actually pulled Caleb out of class for a few minutes so he could join the party as well.  

On Mondays, Luke has eight friends in his class- seven boys and one girl.

Monday evening Grandmom, Grandpa, Grandma, and Grandaddy came over for cookie cake and to give Luke his big "joint" present from them, as well as Marshma and Papa.
