Hitting the Slopes

Over New Years, Creed and I took Caleb to West Virginia to go snow skiing at Timberline for a few days. While we stayed at Creed's Aunt's place, Luke stayed home with Grandmom and Grandpa and was perfectly content. (And spoiled.)
We all had a great little trip and Creed and I were so proud of the progress that Caleb made while we were there.  Best of all, Caleb loves skiing. :)

Creed was SO patient and I think skied backwards for the first half of day one.

I love this...Caleb skiing with Creed holding the reins. Thankfully, he didn't need to use them much.

Caleb loved having lunch in the lodge- especially the hot chocolate!

Catching snowflakes (Day 2 was colder and snowy!)

An Easy Transition for Luke

Creed has been telling me that it was time to transition Luke to a toddler bed for a while now but I wasn't convinced that it was the right time. Luke LOVES his bed and LOVES to sleep, and the thought of changing something that might interfere with his sleep worried me. However, last week we took the plunge and put our baby to bed in a toddler bed.

He did fabulous, and has continued to keep his normal sleep schedule. He goes down each day for his nap without a fight and usually sings himself to sleep at night time.
At almost three years old, Luke goes to bed around 8:00 pm (but is happy if he needs to stay up later) and we wake him up most mornings by 8:30 am. (On the two days that he goes to school, I have to wake him up at 6:50 am.) He usually goes down for his nap around 1:30-2 and I always wake him up by 4:30.

All Good Things

All good things must come to an end, and that is especially true with Christmas. Even though we had our tree and decorations up for about six weeks, it seemed like such a short time when it was over. Time sure flies when you're having fun!

Here is how we finished up our Christmas season and break...

Christmas afternoon we went to celebrate with the Fowler family. Since I was cooking dinner for my family at our house, we were not able to stay long. But, it was still nice seeing everyone and catching up.

Caleb and Eli compared their Nintendo DS

**The Day After Christmas**

I LOVE this picture! I love the PJs. I love the presents waiting to be played with. I love that both boys are so engrossed in their games. Too cute. (And, I love Annie in the picture- we miss her!)

We celebrated with Aunt Dana and her family the day after Christmas. Nathan and his girlfriend, Katie, snuggled up with both boys on the couch at different times that evening.

On Saturday morning PeePaw and Uncle Matt left to go home. (Beth and Drew left a few days before.) We had so much fun with them and hated to see them leave.

Since Saturday was the UK vs UL basketball game, I wanted to dress the boys in game day attire. I let Caleb pick- surprise, surprise, he chose his UL t shirt. But, I didn't give Luke a choice. Sadly, this is how he felt about his blue and white jersey...

Since we had family staying with us for right at a week, I had A LOT to do (clean, organize toys, piles of laundry, etc.) so the boys had to play on their own a bit.
Most of the time Caleb was found playing at his new Lego table... (By the way, he'll only sit on the red, "Cardinals" stool!)

And Luke loves his new mountain tunnel track that he got. It keeps him entertained for so long!

I also keep finding Luke in the corner of the kitchen under the counter. He takes all of his toys (and the gigantic Pirate's Booty popcorn box) with him each time.

Over New Years, Creed and I took Caleb to West Virginia skiing for a few days. I am working on getting those pictures and videos on here. He was super cute on his little skis!

Christmas Morning

Because PeePaw, Grandma Beth, Matt, and Drew were staying with us, Caleb actually camped out in his sleeping bag in our room. Around 7:30 that morning he jumped up and said, "Merry Christmas!" It was so sweet! We wanted to include Luke so Creed carried Caleb upstairs with his eyes closed so we could wake little brother.

The boys were so excited to catch a view!

I love that he ran. (With his puppy "friends" in his arms.)

If you ask Luke what he got for Christmas, he will say lots of treats. His candy filled stocking was the highlight of his Christmas! I keep thinking of the money we could have saved- ha!

Luke's bike from Santa

and the Nintendo DS Caleb asked for.

PeePaw was excited about his cardinals print and his autographed copy of Pitino's new book. (It pained me to spend money on that stuff!)

Creed is all set to wax his skis!

Wrestling with Drew

(I love the mess of Christmas!)

Uncle Matt is the best Lego builder and sat for hours in Caleb's room, working on Caleb's new 717 (yes, that is correct...717!) piece set.
Thank you, thank you, Matt!
