I Really Love My...

Pumpkins!
When we go outside, Luke always runs around to the front of the house to see his pumpkins! I love his excitement and can't wait to see his reaction when we carve one.

Still A Favorite

Caleb has had his "snap blocks" for about two year now, and they are still a favorite in this house. He has quite a few sets that have all been combined into a few storage bins and he will usually play with them at least once a day. Yesterday he worked hard to create this...
You should hear his explanation of what it is and what each part does. This guy has an amazing imagination!

Our Annual Huber's Trip

Sunday afternoon we went to Huber's farm with the Durst family for some pumpkin pickin' fun. This was our fifth trip, and each year we come a little more prepared. The kids had a blast running around the pumpkin patch in search of the perfect pumpkin, although finding a pumpkin that had been split open was the highlight.

Headed to the pumpkin patch

Luke did not like the wagon ride and held tight to me the whole ride.

Madalyn and Caleb pointed out the dirt on all the pumpkins. (This one's dirty. This one's dirty. This one's dirty too...)

Kathryn & Luke

The spilled seeds were so interesting! I love how Madalyn was running from the "yucky seeds."

While Luke was fearful on the wagon ride, he loved the slides in The Barnyard.

And, Caleb loved setting up the dominoes and knocking them over again and again.

Because I Love These Pictures!

Our Annual Huber's Trip

(Did you know that if you don't sit still and smile for a picture then you can't go on the wagon to pick a pumpkin? That's what our kids think, at least!)

Lots more pictures to come!

Sitting Still

Luke isn't much for sitting still, but after watching his big brother play with chalk, he wanted to give it a try.

My Sound Sleeper

Luke is not a sound sleeper at all.

If he falls asleep in the car, his eyes shoot open as soon as I turn it off. And, checking on him during the night is out of the question because the second that you open his door his little head pops up and those big eyes are looking at you.

While he isn't a sound sleeper, he really likes to sleep in his bed, and on the majority of mornings and nap times, I end up waking him up. One afternoon last week, it was pushing 5pm, and this guy was still snoozing. When I went to wake him, he didn't immediately wake up. In fact, I turned off his fan and even ran downstairs to grab my phone so I could get the first picture (since he was a newborn!) of him sleeping.

Sweet, precious boy

Camping!

Last Saturday we went camping near Taylorsville Lake and had an absolute blast. Erika and Ava went to, and I don't know if I have ever seen Caleb as excited as he was to go. (Thankfully, Luke was well taken care of and happy at Grandmom and Grandpa's house!)

The weather was perfect- the cool evening meant roasting marshmallows around the fire in sweatshirts, yet it didn't get too cold. And, because it was a full moon, flashlights were not necessary after the moon was above the tree line. (That didn't stop Caleb and Ava from running around with their head lamps on though.)

Cooking dinner- hot dogs!

Oh, these two...They are just the best of friends cousins! They ran around, played, and simply acted silly all evening.

Mr. Serious. This guy is all business when it comes to campfires.

Dessert: yummy S'mores. (Or "snores" as Ava calls them.)

Caleb and Ava went to bed about an hour before we did, and thankfully, it didn't take too long for them to fall asleep. This was Caleb's first sleepover type of experience and my favorite was the lullaby that we could hear him singing to Ava. (He made it up as he went..."This is a song for me and you. Yes, this is a song for me and you...")

Good morning smiles in the tent. They actually slept until almost 8, but I think their loud, four year old voices were the wake up call for the other campers around the campsite. I gave up with the "Shhh! Other people are still sleeping!"

Breakfast: Donuts and OJ boxes
We all really did have an awesome time. It could not have been anymore perfect! And, we are already looking for our next free weekend to go!
Oh, and Luke slept from 9pm until 8:30am, so thankfully, he'll be invited back to Grandmoms! ;)

Soccer, Game 2

On September 22, Caleb had his second soccer game, and I'm happy to report that he was happier after this game than the first. He "almost kicked the ball"  and he got to be goalie for one of the periods, which he thought was great. He just got to stand back and watch all the other kids run around.

Two thumbs up for being goalie!

Popcorn Party

Friday night after Luke went to bed, Caleb and I stayed up for a little cuddle time on the couch. We shared popcorn and watched Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was pretty perfect.
