Captain Hook

Caleb loves playing pirates and he always has to be Captain Hook these days. It makes for exciting evenings! 

Movie Date

Last week Marshma and Papa took Caleb to see the new Dr. Seuss movie, The Lorax. While they were not too impressed with the movie (ha!), Caleb loved every second- especially the popcorn, Sprite, and sour gummies! He also loved spending time with two of his very favorite people in the world. He sure is glad to have them back in town!!! (We are too!)

Off to the Races

Saturday Creed and I had a wonderful "day date" in Lexington. We went to Keeneland for the Bluegrass Stakes, although we actually left about an hour before the main race. To say it was crowded is a serious understatement because I have never seen so many people in one place. It was crazy- which did make the people watching pretty entertaining! (I forgot how hilarious the Keeneland attire can be!!)

It was just great spending the day with my sweet husband and watching him get all excited over his bets. I did place one bet, on a race called The Whitney. Sadly, my bet didn't pay. Also, a very BIG thank you to Marshma and Papa for keeping the boys- we are so appreciative.

Fun with Caroline

A few weeks ago Caroline came and stayed with us for a few days while Jeff & Kim attended a funeral out of town. Caroline did fantastic- she is so, so well behaved and slept great. We spent a lot of time playing outside, took a "fiesta walk" to our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner, had a popcorn & pajama party, and enjoyed a Happy Meal picnic at the park. Caleb and Caroline got along perfectly and I think there may have only been one disagreement! Caroline also loved playing with baby Luke and seriously pushed him in his car for at least a half hour one evening!

**That was sweet Caroline as the "orphan" in the Southeast video. It will be 3 years this summer that she has been home.

Our Easter

We had a great day celebrating Easter this year. We got up bright and early, attending the 8:30am service (I didn't want the boys in the nursery if it was going to be super crowded!) and got to hear our new pastor preach his first sermon. After church we came home, put Luke down for his morning nap, and then let the boys get their Easter baskets. We had lunch with the whole family at Granny Sue's house and the little ones had an egg hunt. It was so special to see Granny watching her great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren hunt for eggs. She's been a little under the weather these days (she is 93 though!!) and you could see the joy in her eyes as she watched the little ones run around the yard. It was the perfect day.

Another Attempt

Last Sunday I again attempted to get a cute picture of the boys dressed up. Because we were volunteering in the nursery during the 9:00 hour, I didn't have a lot of time OR a lot of success...

By the way, "promotion Sunday" (when kids move up to the next room) usually takes place in August, before school starts back up. However, last Sunday quite a few kiddos were moved, including Caleb. He is now in the 4 year old room and LOVES IT! He even told someone last week that he was four- then corrected himself by explaining that he isn't really four, but is already in the four year old class at church. Ha!

Easter Eggs

Last Sunday (during Luke's morning nap!) Caleb dyed his Easter eggs. We did the "old fashion" way of dyeing the eggs in cups, but also did a little paint rolling, which Caleb took very seriously. He had fun dyeing the eggs, and was very proud of his work!

Letting Go

Recently Luke has begun to let go...

As long as he doesn't realize that he has let go, he's fine to stand unassisted for fairly long periods of time. But, the very second that he realizes he is standing, he grabs back on. He still refuses to even try to walk alone, but is happy to push his walker, musical table, and even Caleb's chairs around for support. Silly boy! I know he could do it- now we've just got to convince him! :)

He's A Mess!

Luke is such a little mess, and he's taking that quality and running with it- literally! Recently he has begun to turn meal time into messy, play time. His new discovery- putting his food, cup, and dirty hands on his head. He thinks it's sooo funny...

That would be pizza crust...

Yesterday morning he went to church with what appeared to be hair gel all over his head. Baby hair gel? No, bananas.
