Caleb's Door
There are only a handful of words that Caleb says that all of
you could understand. They include "Mama," "Rhett," "yeah,"
and "Amen."
Another word you would recognize for sure is "door." Saying
that Caleb loves doors is an understatement. While he prefers
garage doors, any kind of door will do.
On Monday I took him to the mall and let him pick out this year's
Christmas ornament. I should have known better than to let an
18 month old decide. He looked past the Elmo, Dora, and all the
other Sesame Street characters.
What ornament caught Caleb's attention????

That's right. The "Our First Home" ornament now reads,
"Caleb's Door."

Prayers
Tonight before bed I read Caleb a few stories and then said
his prayers for him, ending with "Amen."
Caleb followed by saying,
"sedemgr remadta dshatg siohogih. Aaaaamen."
Caleb's language.
I'm pretty sure God speaks it too.

Choo Choo
Grandaddy put his special Christmas train together and Caleb
was SO excited to watch it go round and round. It has fun
lights and sounds, which also makes it a favorite for Caleb.
Thanks Grandaddy (and Grandma) for all your hard work!

By the way, we were over during the UK vs IU game, which
explains why Caleb is sporting his UK gear. Doesn't he look
like such a big boy! He now says, "Goooo," when he sees
a basketball game on TV. We are still working on the "Cats"
part.

MIA
Sorry for the recent lack of posts. Caleb and I both got a nasty
stomach bug this week, actually he got it and passed it along
to me, and it's taken a while to get back into the swing of things.
Anyways, we are both healthy and feeling better. And we
didn't infect anyone else! Whew!!!

First Ornament
The weekend before Thanksgiving we decided to put up the
tree. And of course, Caleb had that honor of putting the first
ornament on the tree.

He is really into pointing to things these days. Just another
way to tell you exactly what he wants without talking. :)

And see how the ornaments are spread out perfectly
around the tree. Not anymore. All breakable ornaments
(that only leaves 3) are now hung at least three feet from
the floor. Any guesses on why???

On to Virginia
On Black Friday instead of heading to the mall, we headed
to Claytor Lake in Virginia to see my Dad's side of the
family. It was only 3 more hours from Charleston, and since
we drove through the mountains, we got to see snow for the
first time this winter. Creed took Monday off, so we were
there for 2 1/2 days, which was great. Caleb made himself
at home and loved all the love and attention he got from two
uncles, grandparents, and great-grandparents!

Hanging out with Uncle Matt
This was Caleb's favorite thing. It's a fish that sings songs
and moves when you push the button. By the end of the
weekend we were all singing, "Take me to the river.."
Me and my little brothers. Drew (on the left) is a junior
in high school and spends his time playing lacrosse and
hanging out with friends. Matt is a sophomore at East
Carolina, the house manager at his fraternity house,
and is making great grades.
Caleb introducing Uncle Matt to Laurie Berkner
Heading down to the dock with PeePaw.

**Okay..I am SO frusterated!!! I got a new Sony camera
that uses the program "Picture Motion Browser" on the
computer. While I am able to rotate vertical pictures
on the PMB program, they won't upload correctly on
blogspot and turn out sideways. Help! Can pictures be
rotated on blogspot? Do you have any suggestions?!!!

Thanksgiving Day
Early Thursday morning we headed out for the first leg of
our trip. We spent the day in Charleston, WV with Creed's
Mom's side of the family. It was a great day, filled with lots
of yummy food (gotta love a fried turkey!!) and good
conversation. It's sad that we only see some of the family
on this one day of the year... But, we are so thankful for the
time that we do have!

Attempting a picture of an 18 mo. old and a 21 mo. old.
NOT easy!!

The best shot we got...Sweet cousins!
While we were at Creed's aunt and uncle's house, Creed
and I tag teamed Caleb, taking about 20 min. shifts. He
literally never stopped moving. He'd go up one flight of
stairs, check everything out, then come down another flight
of stairs. One positive is that he did (finally!) learn how to
come down the stairs! By the end of the evening, Creed
and I were exhausted.
While Caleb made his loop around the house, he always
stopped to play a little tune. (Thanks Aunt Terri and Uncle
Ron for opening your home to a toddler!!!)
Our family (Did I mention that Caleb only napped for 20
minutes on this day? That explains the exhausted look.)
Opening his first Christmas present this year.
Creed and I cheered during this short lived moment. HE
IS SITTING STILL!! (Seriously, we high-fived each other!)
The kid's table- Caleb, Spencer, Ava, William, James,
Mackenzie, and John. SO well behaved!

Only the Beginning...
Last Wednesday night we all got together at Grandma and
Grandaddy's house for our annual pre-Thanksgiving dinner.
We all joke that it's a great way to stretch out our stomachs
for the Thanksgiving dinner the next day. Ha! And since we
always spend Thanksgiving with Creed's family, I still got to
spend time with mine.

Great Uncle Mark getting some love from Caleb and
Caroline.
Caroline pushed Caleb all throughout the house.
They tried to ride together...
Then Caleb ended up pushing her. It will be so much fun
watching these two grow up together!
Of course, before I could take a picture of this precious
moment Caleb spotted me.
