Near-record setting rainfall for our area

Creed and I had a "day date" on the lake one day. It was a day that didn't include any tubing, an excessive number of questions, Coppertone 50, whining, etc. It was great! Ha!

At this point the lake was up 20 feet, and what is normally farm land was completely under water.

That tree line should be the edge of the lake!

Ice cream treats at the marina
(Because the lake is flooded, the parking lot and ramp at the marina are underwater. We have had to park at another ramp and ride a "shuttle" (One of the marina's boats) to the marina to access our boat. It's added extra time on our trips, so the boys have been rewarded with sweet treats at the end of the day!)

With all the pool and lake trips over the past few weeks, we have had lots of extra bath times!

Last week our sweet neighbors spent the day on the boat with us. Caleb is about a month older than Barrett

and Luke is about a month older than Colin. They get along great (99% of the time!) and just have a blast together. This was their first time ever going to a lake, and from the looks on their faces, I'd say they liked it!

Summer Bucket List

This summer we made a list of simple, yet fun, things to do for our bucket list. While we are not 100% finished with our list, we have made a pretty good dent in it.

Have an ice cream social at Graeters.

I love how they share, but it always turns into an argument over who chose the best flavor.

Make a new, yummy dessert.

Go to the splash park.
This was our first time going to the fairly new splash park at Skyview Park. We had the place to ourselves for the first part of the day and the boys had a blast. They are ready to go back!

Walk across the Big Four Bridge.

The best part of the walking bridge...Frozen yogurt in Jeffersonville.

Visit a new park.
While we were in Jeffersonville we checked out their new park and it was awesome! Definitely worth the walk.

Visit the Farmer's Market.
We happened to go on "pet day" so Luke, the fearless animal lover, was loving it. Caleb...not so much. Ha! Caleb did get his farm fresh sausage biscuit, which made him happy!

Make a new, yummy dessert.
When Luke saw a box of Reese Cup Cupcakes, he couldn't pass it up. He was my big helper and wanted to do everything!

Lake Cumberland

Growing up, my family had a house at Cumberland, and we would all spend at least three weekends at the lake together. That was my grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins, and us...sharing two bathrooms...and it was awesome! (All the cousins were a lot smaller then and didn't take up so much room- ha!) I have the best memories from those trips- especially the week that we always spent together around the 4th of July. It was a really special time, and Cumberland will always mean a lot to me!

Last Friday we headed out early for a long weekend there- our first trip since early last summer. While Creed had to work, we still got to spend time with Grandmom and Grandpa, as well as Paige, Luke, and Briana.

Caleb is a tubing machine!

Lunch at Wolf Creek Marina

Dinner at Jamestown Marina

While we were eating, a rain storm rolled through, and thankfully, ended just as we finished dinner. The kids were thrilled to see a rainbow.

Our Family
(We sure missed having Daddy there!!!)

While Grandmom, Grandpa, and Paige stayed at the Lodge, we shared a cabin with Luke and Bri. It was really nice and had a fantastic layout. The boys LOVED staying there since it was new to them. :)

Saturday night we had dinner with Aunt Cathy and Cousin Emma on their houseboat. (Unfortunately, Uncle Mark couldn't make it because he was sick.) Caleb really has a thing for houseboats and has already planned to have one when he grows up. He loved sitting in the Captain's chair!

Jenga on the houseboat with Aunt Bri.
(I was so thankful for everyone's help that evening. I do not do well on houseboats, and even though we were tied up at the dock, the slight rocking had me taking Dramamine within five minutes of being there. Luke and Bri helped with the boys so much during dinner!)

We love State Dock!

A Big THANKS to Grandmom and Grandpa for such an awesome weekend!!!
