Recently...

The boys raced to finish the library's summer reading program so they could get their free Frosty.

He said he was a life guard. :)

Bucket List: Make a birdhouse
Check.

Many, many popcicles have been eaten this summer so far...

On most mornings, we have the pool to ourselves for the first 20 or 30 minutes. We love our "private pool" time.

For some reason, the boys think ordering food at the pool is just the very best thing. I guess it's the little things...

Caleb likes to hang out at Marshma and Papa's house during the afternoon while Luke is napping. Last week he rode his bike there and when I went to pick him up, this is how I found him. No wonder he likes it there! ;)

Around midnight one night last week, this is how we found Luke. Ha!

Last night the boys and I went to cousin Blake's wedding. I think I had two handsome dates!

Father's Day on the Lake

Creed wanted to spend Father's Day on the lake (big surprise- ha!), so we headed out there after church. We were thrilled that our friends, the Dursts, as well as Katie & David, could spend the day with us. All 6 little ones had a blast swimming and splashing, and all the big kids (Matt included!) took turns on the tube.

I love how they lined up to watch Madalyn tube.

Luke and Kathryn are so cute together. They could always be found next to each other on the boat.

Apparently we wore Luke out because this is how I found him after we finished covering the boat.

First Sleepover

A few months ago Caleb decided that instead of having a party for his birthday, he wanted to invite his friend from school, Andrew, over for a sleepover. The boys played lots of XBOX, went to the pool, and played games around our house. They also stayed up way too late! :)

Caleb and Andrew decided to go to the pool for a little while Friday evening before the rain came.

We ordered pizza (Caleb's choice) and Drumsticks were requested for dessert.

The sleepover was really, really hard for little brother. The big boys didn't want him to bother them (which is understandable!) but Luke really wanted to be included. (And, by included, I mean he wanted to bother them. Ha!)

Breakfast of champions...bacon, fruit, and donuts!

Saturday was really rainy, so in between games, we did a few little experiments.

Sweet Caleb said that this birthday was his best ever! We are so glad! :)

Making Progress

Luke LOVES to go to the pool, and while he started off the summer a little fearful, he has made lots of progress these last few weeks. We are proud of our little fish!

Our Weekend

Last weekend was a busy, but fun, weekend around here.

We got up bright and early Saturday morning for our neighborhood's yard sale. Caleb was determined to have a lemonade stand, so I decided to sell a handful of their big, baby toys. We were both successful, and many people commented on Caleb's skills in sales. :)

They decided that Luke would hold the sign to attract the customers. (This lasted only an hour or so.)

Caleb worked the stand and did a great job. He was determined and stayed the course, working all four hours!

Saturday evening Creed and I had the opportunity to attend the night races at Churchill Downs (while the boys stayed with Grandmom and Grandpa.) He won a trip through his work, which included a Winner's Circle suite, prizes, betting money, food, drinks, and a night at The Seelbach. It was a fun evening, made even more exciting when American Pharoah made an appearance!

Our suite was right on the track so we had this view all evening.

Since Sunday was Caleb's birthday, he decided that he wanted to take cousin Ava to the lake. This was actually her first trip to a lake and she loved it. She had the biggest smile the entire time she was tubing!

While she tubed, Luke napped.

That evening, family came over to celebrate our 7 year old! His request- cookie cake!

I told him to show me "7" with his fingers and this is what he did. Ha!

We also celebrated Creed's birthday with a Graeter's black raspberry chip (YUM!) cake. He showed his 33. :)

Little brother did not enjoy the festivities and all the attention that Caleb was getting. He hid in his room while we sang Happy Birthday and pouted in the corner while Caleb opened gifts. (He is something else...)

Luke was trying really hard not to look like he liked Caleb's Star Wars card. Notice the hands still crossed. ;)

Caleb loves his Razor 360 and is getting good at riding it.
