Fun at Lake Cumberland

A few weeks ago we spent the day at Lake Cumberland on Uncle Mark and Aunt Cathy's house boat. We swam, fished, tubed, and rode the jet ski. The boys loved every minute and can't wait to go back!

Our fearless boy!

Caleb went down the slide at least 30 times that day.

Luke fished with Grandpa and caught a bluegill all on his own!

So proud of his catch

Luke crashed and took a good boat nap.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CALEB!

Dear Caleb,

On Saturday, June 14th, YOU turned SIX years old!

It is hard to believe it's been a whole year since THIS post, and I still get emotional every time I think back to the day that you entered this world. You've had a fun and busy year, full of lots of new things. You started kindergarten, made lots of new friends, learned how to read, and consider your brother a friend. You are full of questions, and won't settle until you are in complete understanding. You love Legos, Star Wars, Power Rangers, and "popcorn/movie nights."

You wake up before 7:30 every morning, regardless of what time you went to bed, and rarely nap anymore. You love to spend the day at the pool or at the lake, and swim like a fish these days.

Here are your favorites, according to you...

fruit- watermelon
food- Japanese

Orlando, Day 5- Our Last Day

You know how sometimes at the end of a vacation you are ready to get back home? Yeah, that didn't happen to us at all this time. (In fact, Luke is still wearing his Nick Hotel wrist band and refuses to take it off. Apparently he thinks he needs it to go back to Florida. Haha!) We made it out to the pool by 9am and stayed most of the day.

Two thumbs up!

Caleb seriously spent a good 30 minutes in the same spot. He is holding the orange bucket on the left, letting it fill with water...

...waiting until a poor, innocent victim walked under so he could dump it on them.

We had lunch in the hotel's "mall" and ran into these guys. Luke was so thrilled to see them!

Creed had the idea to take the boys to T-Rex at Downtown Disney for dinner, knowing Luke would love it. (He doesn't remember being there last year!)
Ready for dinner

These boys had to stop by the Lego Store while we were there. Luke built Legos while Caleb shopped. :)

Creed was right- Luke LOVED T-Rex!

He wore his hat all evening and even on the plane home the next day!

Love those smiles!

Our trip to Orlando seriously was perfect. Creed and I enjoyed it just as much as the boys and we are so thankful that the week went so well, especially after the start we had! While it will be a few years, we can't wait to do it all over again!

Orlando, Day 4- Downtown Disney

Little brother was worn out from another fun day and crashed before we were out of the parking garage at Universal!

We decided to stop by Downtown Disney since it was so close to our hotel and walk around a few minutes before dinner. The boys loved shopping in all the stores and enjoyed all there was to do and see there.

This happened while waiting for our food at dinner...

But don't worry about him...he perked back up when it was time for dessert. :)

It was late when we got back to the hotel so I put Luke right to bed. But, Creed and Caleb ran back down to the pool for a little while to play and watch the Sponge Bob movie on the big screen.

Orlando, Day 4- Universal Studios

To say that we loved Universal Studios would be a total understatement.
It was awesome!

Going in June, we were anxious about ride wait times, and even discussed purchasing an "Express Pass" but decided not to at the last minute. Thankfully, we only waited for one ride the whole day. (I think that since the Today Show and Jimmy Fallon are there this week, it helped keep the crowds down last week!)

The kids loved riding the rides (Caleb and Creed rode all except for two- the ones Caleb wasn't tall enough for yet) and Creed and I were able to appreciate all the attention to detail that each and every ride had. We can't wait to go back!

Ready to start our day!

Luke's first roller coaster!

We were the only ones riding and he insisted that we ride it a second time.

Meeting Sponge Bob

Luke asked Sponge Bob where Squidward was, so Sponge Bob grabbed his hand, walked him out of the photo area...

and took him to Squirdward's home. Luke loved it!

While the big boys rode some rides, this little guy and I rode the "Twirl & Hurl." Thankfully, we did not hurl. ;)

In front of the new Harry Potter city...can you see what it says in the background?!!!! We already have an 8x10 of this picture framed!

Creed said the Transformers ride is the best ride he has ever rode. This was the one ride that had a wait...90 minutes. However, Creed and Caleb were escorted on the ride and didn't wait for one minute. Why, you may ask...

Somehow Luke managed to slice the palm of his hand open on the side of a building. It was bleeding pretty bad, and a Band Aid just wouldn't do the trick. So, we can officially say that we have been to the First Aid building at Universal Studios. :) After we got his hand bandaged up, the nice man offered to walk us on to a ride. I spoke up with "Transformers!" knowing the wait. It worked out perfectly, and Luke's hand has healed well.

A quick picture at the end of the day.
Smiles all around!
