Luke's Last Day of School

On Wednesday, May 28th, Luke had his last day of Mother's Day Out. This big boy has had the best time with his new friends this year, and his teacher, Miss Amy, holds a special place in his heart.

I picked Luke up a few minutes early and got him from his lunchroom. One last hug (and a few kisses) for Miss Amy, then he grabbed his back pack, said bye to his friends, and walked out happy as could be.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend. We went to our cousin Zach's graduation party, spent a lot of time outside playing with neighborhood friends, and...
made it to the pool for the opening weekend. Loved when the boys took off running down the path!

Sunday late afternoon it was cloudy and we had the pool to ourselves. Literally. :)

Monday we spent the day at the pool again, and while we didn't have the place to ourselves again, it was still a great day.

His "Un-Birthday"

Last week Caleb celebrated his "Un-Birthday" at school. He took in Italian Ice to share with his friends and since it was a nice day they ate it on the playground. I thought it was so sweet that he got to have a special day for him, even though his birthday is over the summer. Apparently there were quite a few "un-birthdays" during the month of May, and I think the kids got used to extra special treats during snack time!

On My Phone

I found a few pictures on my phone from this past month that I wanted to share...

While Daddy went fishing for a few days with PeePaw over Derby weekend, the boys and I enjoyed our time together. After church the three of us went out to lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

That same evening we made it to Graeter's for a scoop (or two) of ice cream.

Before PeePaw went back home, we had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants- Sake Blue!

Marshma and Papa went too!

Every year Caleb's school has a Prayer Walk where they invite various community members to speak to the students and explain how they are able to further the gospel of Christ through their career. After the students listen, each class prays specifically for the community members. It's a great program and I am so glad that I got to attend this year.

Firefighters

A UofL baseball player (and recent WA grad)

a Police Officer

After the Prayer Walk the class had a picnic (You might notice little brother made himself at home in the middle of the group!)

Recently

Last Saturday we went to Dayton for cousin Emma's graduation party. We are so proud of her accomplishments and wish her the best of luck at Clemson this fall!

Caleb and Emma

The boys were busy with some of cousin Adam's toys from when he was little. Caleb referred to the Star Wars Lego sets he had as "old time" ones. Old time being late 90s. ;)

 Mother's Day with my boys

Luke was introduced to Pop Rocks, thanks to Grandmom and Grandpa

I worked three days last week and will be working four days this upcoming week because of testing. This year I am reading and writing for a third grade student. After testing, and helping out with make ups, I found myself using my "planning" time to sit back, relax, and read a book. It was glorious!

The kids were SO incredibly good during a trip to Hobby Lobby yesterday that we stopped and ran off some energy on the way home. Love unplanned park trips.

Derby Festival Fun

A few weeks ago we took the kids downtown to the chow wagon and balloon glimmer. Dinner consisted of hot dogs and funnel cake, the fair rides didn't disappoint, and the kids were in awe of the balloons. Love this tradition!

A Saturday

We try really hard not to do anything on Saturdays, especially Saturday mornings. On this particular Saturday, everything was quite relaxed and perfect.

Homemade waffles for breakfast

Back to bed to watch a movie
(You'll laugh, but the boys are watching a Star Wars movie on a VHS tape...Yep- thanks to an old set of movies from Uncle Matt and Uncle Drew from the late 90s, we get to fast forward through the previews, adjust the fuzziness off the screen, and rewind when we are finished. Why buy the dvd when we have a  working VHS tape?!!)

I even said "Yes!" to a big bubble bath that morning.

While we did have to change from our pjs to real clothes, thankfully it was for something fun- a birthday party!

Make that two birthday parties! We went from a soccer party to a pirate party and the boys couldn't have been happier with two pinatas in two hours!

Then there was some of this...the kid that normally wakes up when I simply crack his door to check on him.
