Caleb gets out of school at noon, and a few weeks ago, Creed took him up to Paoli Peeks for an afternoon and evening of skiing. They had so much fun and are looking forward to another trip soon.

Snow Fun
Yesterday we took advantage of the warmer weather and spent a few hours playing in the snow. It was so warm that we kept having to peel layers off, and before sunset, our snow creations had already fallen. Since Creed was home, it was extra fun (It seems like it never snows on his days off!) because apparently he is a better snowball thrower, igloo builder, and sled pusher than mommy. ;)

Luke was always so determined to pull his sled back up the hill.
Since he wouldn't fit on the sled, Caleb decided to do a little body surfing down the hill.
Love, love all the smiles that these pictures show...
(If you can zoom in on this one, you'll see that Luke isn't smiling at the top of the hill. He's actually throwing a fit because he wouldn't fit on the sled that time. Ha!)
Our snowman
Creed worked so hard on the igloo for the boys.
I was impressed with the igloo. I may have given my doubtful opinion that it would work a time or two during construction.

Recently...
Caleb got a "Snap Circuits" set for Christmas and loves it. He follows the designs and is learning so much about how things work. In this experiment, he included a cup of water into his closed circuit. Pretty cool!
Taking the boys roller skating for Cousin Reagan's birthday party was an adventure, that's for sure. You can only imagine what it was like for both Caleb and Luke to be on skates, and then you'll understand why this is the only picture I was able to take.
On the warmer (upper 40s and low 50s) days, we've tried to get outside and play for at least a little while. We love the snow but can't wait for spring and summer!

Officer Fowler
Keeping order at Home Depot.
*****
Last night I was reading "Click Clack Moo, Cows that Type" to Caleb and he had a lot of questions about the typewriter. I explained what it was used for and how it is different than a computer. After thinking for a moment, he asked, "So, like, is that what they used in Bible times?"

Our Weekend, in Food
Creed worked all day Saturday and then drove straight to WV to go skiing with some of his buddies from work so the boys and I were on our own all weekend. I told Caleb that he could choose dinner Saturday night and he picked one of his new favorites, Hunan Wok. :)
He ate every single morsel of his Chicken Lo Mein and Chicken Fried Rice, as well as all of my broccoli and at least 1/3 of my chicken. (He loves the sauce on my "Chicken with Vegetables.") For a kid that doesn't eat that much, he can do some damage at Chinese restaurants. (Japanese and Mexican too, for the matter!)
Creed isn't too much of a fan of chain restaurants so we took advantage of him being gone and used an Applebees gift card Sunday night. After eating a great dinner, the boys got yummy sundaes.
While we really, really missed Creed over the weekend, the boys were happy with their fun dinner outings.

Happy Snow Day!
We're staying warm inside today!
(Well, that's after I went to the grocery this morning when the weather man was still calling it "blizzard conditions." Thankful for 4-wheel drive and that I was able to shop without the boys!)
Caleb is playing with his "snap blocks." (Trio building sets.) These sets were such a great purchase and I'm glad that over three years later, he still loves them!
Little brother enjoyed crashing his dump truck into the buildings we made. Crazy how different these two boys are!

Hitting the Slopes
Over New Years, Creed and I took Caleb to West Virginia to go snow skiing at Timberline for a few days. While we stayed at Creed's Aunt's place, Luke stayed home with Grandmom and Grandpa and was perfectly content. (And spoiled.)
We all had a great little trip and Creed and I were so proud of the progress that Caleb made while we were there. Best of all, Caleb loves skiing. :)
Creed was SO patient and I think skied backwards for the first half of day one.
I love this...Caleb skiing with Creed holding the reins. Thankfully, he didn't need to use them much.
Caleb loved having lunch in the lodge- especially the hot chocolate!
