Just like Daddy

Last week Caleb pretended he was a car salesman and kept asking me, "Which one you want to buy, Mommy?"

After I picked out a shiny new Porsche, I asked how much it cost. He said he needed to check his computer and see...

It cost $96. Not bad! He's a deal maker already!

I also asked him how many cars he had. He counted them one by one and ended with "Twenty eleven." :)

End of the year bash!

To celebrate the end of the school year, Caleb and his friends at school had a luau party. Mrs. Harper had leis for all of the kids, but it took about two seconds for them to be destroyed. Ha! They had snacks, yummy punch, and played with giant beach balls that Mrs. Harper had for each of the students. I was SO glad that I was able to be there and watch him with his friends.

I am so thankful for such a wonderful preschool program and especially, Mrs. Harper. She will always hold a very special place in Caleb's heart, and we just love her for taking such good care of our little boy.

One of the gifts for all the students from Mrs. Harper is a dvd with a picture slide show that she made of everything the kids did this year. While it is for the kids, I LOVE watching it and will keep it always. It is amazing how much Caleb has changed from the "fall festival" pictures to more recent "Dr. Seuss day" pictures.

3 Months

Luke Michael, you are three months old today! While times seems to be flying by, it's hard to remember our world before you were in it.

As of today you weigh 12 pounds even. (That means you have gained 5 pounds in 3 months!) We were so amazed at how long you are that I forgot what the nurse said, but I know you have grown over 2 inches since your 2 month checkup. I actually took you to the doctor today just to get your weight checked. Lately you have started to only nurse about 8-10 minutes, and I was worried that you weren't getting enough. You are just efficient!

You have settled into a nice schedule these days, although I know that will change soon enough. You are a great sleeper as long as you are tightly swaddled in your Miracle Blanket or have a blanket covering your face (in your car seat.)

Here is a rundown of your day...

7:30ish Wake up

8:00 Eat

playtime

9:00-9:45 Nap (in your crib)

10:00 Eat

playtime

11:30-1:00 Nap (in your crib)

1:00 Eat

playtime

2:00-4:30 Nap (usually in your swing)

4:30 Eat

playtime

6ish-7ish Evening Nap (stroller, crib, or swing)

Bath

8:00 Eat, then bedtime (in your crib)

Between 3am and 5am you eat again, then back to sleep until morning

You are such a happy and content baby, and for that we are so thankful. You very rarely cry and when you do it's only for a very short moment. We take you to church, restaurants, stores, and you are just perfect. You light up a room with your smile, and do so very often. And that smile of yours, it is definitely contagious!

You are getting stronger and stronger each day. This morning you rolled over for the first time and I assumed it was an accident on your part. While it may have been an accident at the time, you figured out it was a way of getting out of tummy time and now I can't keep you on your tummy! All you do is roll and act like you've done it for days!

You're the best, Luke Michael. We love you SO much and are enjoying this baby stage more than you could ever imagine. Thanks for making it so easy on us!

Prom

It really doesn't seem that long ago since prom, although I realize it's been over a decade. Yikes! I had a good dose of reality on just how old I am...my little (although he is much bigger than me) brother went to prom this past weekend. He went with his "friend" Brianna, who is such a nice girl. She is going to UK this fall so I'm guessing that is why they are still calling themselves simply "friends." (Don't kill me when you read this, Luke!) Anyways, she looked beautiful and he looked handsome- the perfect couple!

Drew also went to his senior prom recently. Actually, he didn't really go, they just got all dressed up to have dinner and party. Apparently going to the dance isn't the cool thing in No. Carolina these days! But he sure looks great!
The boys and I are going to be going to No. Carolina soon for Drew's graduation and we can't wait!

Getting Stronger

We have been working hard on those neck muscles...

Birthday Fun

Last weekend Caleb and Luke went to cousin Eli's 5th birthday party. It was at a pool so Aunt Paige went to help. Caleb loved swimming and going down the slide. He also really loved the very messy cupcake. Unfortunately I only got a few pictures- the story of my life these days! Thanks, Eli and Happy, Happy Birthday!

The party took place during Caleb's nap time and he fell asleep in about .5 seconds after laying on the couch!

Luke is a very, very smiley baby and it cracks me up that he smiles at his reflection. He must like what he sees!

Derby Weekend

It was so nice to have PeePaw and Grandma Beth in town for over 3 full days Derby weekend. Matt and his girlfriend, Chelsea, were here too, and we had so much fun hanging out with them and getting to know Chelsea. Caleb was very shy around her at first but referred to her as a "princess" after seeing her dressed up for Derby.

One morning PeePaw and Grandma Beth took Caleb to a park. Caleb had so much fun and both he and Grandma Beth had battle scars to prove it!

On Mother's Day we had the whole family over, to not only celebrate Mother's Day, but also Papa's birthday and Uncle Matt's! Caleb and Garrett looked so cute in their matching shirts.

Luke quickly fell asleep in Marshma's arms. Doesn't he look cute in his cap! This was Caleb's first hat, and I love that Luke will get to wear it this summer!

Helping Matt open presents!

Caleb sat in Matt's lap for so long. Creed and I laughed that he would never sit in either of our laps for that long! He sure loves his uncle!

All the mothers on Mother's Day. I love how I have spit up on my shirt. So appropriate for this stage of my life!

And I had to include a pictue of Matt and Chelsea all ready for Derby. They are so cute and I am so glad that we got to spend the weekend with them. By the way, my dad had $20 on Animal Kingdom to win. Ha! Why can't I be that lucky???

I forgot to mention that Uncle Matt will be here all summer. He is selling cars at Bachman so we'll be seeing lots of him. (Actually, what am I thinking? He'll always be at work!)

Big Boy Life Jacket

Caleb's new big boy life jacket arrived yesterday. We are all SO ready for summer!

Bath

Luke now loves bath time and finds it very relaxing. I took these pictures the last week of April (I am SO far behind!) so he has plumped up a little since then. He also has more hair...orange hair. At a first glance it's brown but if the sun light hits it a certain way it is orange. Not red, but orange. I have a feeling he and his Daddy will have the exact same color hair when he gets bigger!

Caleb

Caleb, One month from today we will be celebrating your 3rd birthday. I have a feeling that we will be pretty busy, so I am going to write a few things today so I don't forget!

I am in shock at how fast you have grown. You are no longer a baby or a toddler but a little boy. But, since we can't refer to you as "little" anymore, I guess you are my big boy! You always remind me that no matter how big you get you will always be my baby! I just LOVE that!

You say the funniest things. Last week Papa had surgery on his ear and you just studied and studied it. You then looked at him and said, "It's not beautiful." How diplomatic of you not to say gross or yucky! Also, you know stupid is a bad word (thanks Toy Story for introducing stupid and idiot), and last night when Daddy was getting you out of the bath you called him "stupa" a few times. When we asked you about this, you threw out your hand and with some pre-teen attitude said, "I didn't say stupid!" Boy are we in trouble!
*****

Here are some pictures of you and your friend Ella. I think we might need to implement the rule, "two feet on the floor at all times" soon!

Luke's Room

Luke's room is 99% finished, as of last week, and I absolutely love it! We went with Pottery Barn's "Junior Varsity" bedding and kept the sports theme. A BIG thanks to Grandma and Grandaddy for hanging everything on the walls! The only thing left is to fill some picture frames and hang his ceiling fan.

And my VERY FAVORITE thing about Luke's room is this precious little guy that sleeps so well in there!
